hapevoToday was her 24th chemo infusion. It's been a long road and we were not sure she would still be with us.
She recently had a CT scan and the tumor on her liver is still not visible and the one on the pancreas is very faint on the scan.
Her oncologist is very pleased with her results and is pulling another part of her chemo regime off the treatment.
She will only be getting 5-fluorouracil, aka 5-FU, from here on out. She will still have to go in to the hospital every other week so they can hook her up with the 5-FU pump which only takes about 15 minutes and it comes off at home 48 hours later.
So, since our last update in March we took a trip to Kuai in August with her two sisters and their husbands. We stayed in Poipu at the Koloa Landing Resort and got a three bedroom suite so we all could stay together. It was a great trip and finally took that helicopter tour that has been calling me for the last thirty years, lol.
Then two weeks ago we headed down to Puerto Vallarta to stay with her sister and brother in law at their condo for a week. Had a great time, got some some and a lot of great food
Her oncologist is totally behind her taking a week off chemo to travel and even mentioned taking a break from the chemo at some time next year as long as she doesn't have a relapse.
Needless to say we feel beyond blessed on how this journey has gone, but always cautious.
