Seems like the closer we get to the election, the lower they go. Regular is now around $2.75 in my area. Could this be a deliberate effort to help Dems or perhaps an anticipation of a Trump victory? Seems like with the Middle East turmoil it should be going up, not down.

My sister thinks I must be rich because I don't even NOTICE gas prices.

It's a necessity. I buy it at a Top Tier station when I need it. I have plenty of shit to worry about, driving around town to save $.05 isn't on that list.

Adding on top of that some complex election conspiracy?

So..... no? Razz

When it gets down to Trump's era level of $1.69, I'll be impressed. Hey, only 9 days to go to get there. Cool

The gas tax returned here in Georgia, so it jumped 29¢ overnight.

This plus less demand as off season as far as vacation driving traveling. Still almost double here compared to Trump years.

National gasoline price average has been falling since February, and crude oil price has been falling since April.

I also grabbed Houston and State of PA gasoline prices too for the chart.

There's no direct political involvement. Nobody is pulling strings behind the scenes. It's simply lower demand as the peak summer driving season is over. Good grief.

You tell him. The Biden administration would never manipulate oil prices for political gain. They are honest and trustworthy guys. Come on, man.

That’s what they admit to.

I guess when gas prices jump after the election, we’ll blame it on higher demand. Woooo, what about blaming it on an active hurricane season?

You've fallen for political propaganda that Obama foisted on the country and the Biden admin continues to play from same sheet of music. It's a meaningless gesture based on a half-assed political window dressing. Here are 2 prior posts I've made about it:
  • Brief post in July
  • Lengthier post I made on it in March

The only changes I notice are when I am in a shitty part of town, gas is 15 to 20 cents more. So I try to buy it when I am near home. It doesn't seem to have dropped meaningfully in price over the last few weeks or month, though. Maybe I just don't pay attention. You have to buy it, no matter what.

The price of oil or gasoline? They aren't always in line with each other. In other words, a spike (or dip) in oil prices will take some time to show up at the pump.

I don't know how much of Iran's oil makes up the total, but it probably isn't that much.

Israel is not targeting Iran's oil production, although this would be a legitimate strategic target.

The Arab oil-producing countries won't say it out loud, but they are indifferent to, if not secretly rooting for, Israel. They hate and fear Iran, and their differences go back way before oil was found. And they don't care about the "Palestinian" occupants of Gaza, either.

Seems relatively stable the past couple weeks around here.
Past month or 2, it does appear to have come down some. Helpful when filling up the tank on our Expedition.

Just did some running around out here in California. I actually looked at a couple of stations and the cheapest was $4.89 and one was $5.69 for regular.
