My sock collection is getting pretty haggard and are mainly a company that starts with an N that I’m less than pleased with. So let’s talk socks. I need some calf socks for work to wear under boots and some ankle/no shows for workout/everyday. Any socks you guys wear that you really like?

Darn Tough. At least 60% wool. Get a couple different “weights” for different seasons.
Yes they are expensive. I believe they are worth it.

I'm not a good source. I bought some fisherman knit socks 50 years ago and still haven't worn them out. They stopped making them because they wore so well.

I am still looking for good boot socks.
I have been wearing Fox River lately but they are okay.

I used to wear Wig Wam but the style I wore for 10 years they phased out.

Now for running/workout socks I like the wright socks: Cool Mesh II. I am very anal retentive about my socks, and these are the only ones I will wear for training.

My low cut/walking socks are Ecosox brand. I bought some by mistake 8-10 years ago, and am still buying/wearing them. They are not made from cotton(my old regular walking socks), but from bamboo fibers. They are worn by diabetics, also(I am not diabetic). They wick sweat away, and are very soft against your feet.

Instant Karma! Send me your address and I will send you five new pair of Thorlo uniform white toe socks, these are Imperfects but who cares they are in your boot. It's only the color line that is off. I wore this brand when I was a cop and had purchased more whenever we drove by the factory, for whenever the ones I had would wear out...please put SIGFORUM in the subject line so it stays in my email box.

Hanes X-Temp Lite. They make crew and ankle. It’s all in wear. The crew socks are significantly better socks than the Nike crews, and that’s before any opinions about Nike in general come in.

The hanes socks are $15 for 6 or 8 pairs or something like that. My father in law to be got me a 24 pair pack or something giant like that at Wal Mart for Christmas (I’m easy to shop for) and I think they were like $25.

I'm firmly in the buy 30 pairs of cheap socks and rotate them until they wear out and then replace camp. Makes sorting laundry way easier too!

I've been wearing Thorlo tennis crews for better than 30 years. I wear them daily and rotate through about a dozen pair and get at least two to three years wear before I need to toss them. I actually have a box of a dozen stored on the top shelf of the closet that I bought several years ago that are still waiting their turn.

I've been using Gold Toe for years, but I'll give these Thorlos a look.

I'm still wearing Gold Toe dress socks I "borrowed" from my dad when I forgot mine about 20 years ago for my brothers wedding...

Plus the Thorlos bendable linked me to years ago were and are great Smile...

I have also been pleased with any and all socks from LL Bean.
