Orguss summed up my thoughts, but I'd like to point out that you stated you were having a very hard time with this.
To me that shows how important this really is for you.
Thank you for taking the time to care.
I wish more people would take a little pride & fly the flag.

Cheers ~

I would not fly it upside down.

I fly both the U.S. flag and the Don't tread on me flag on my house.

I use 2 regular flag poles attached to the posts on my porch. The U.S. flag is placed higher.

When I was learning about flying the flag many years ago, we were taught that flying the flag upside down is a signal for acute distress that you need immediate help for. I think as others have said for your purposes the Gadsden flag would be more appropriate.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I'd go with a Gadsden flag before flying upside down. I won a karma on here a few years ago for a Come and Take It flag and I started flying it for awhile to show my pro gun stance, I went back to the American flag when all of this virus crap started.

First let me say thank you for all the great feedback.
You all have given me a better understanding of the question I asked. I think this country is in trouble with peoples rights being restricted, however you all are right, this is not the right way to protest this.
I like the idea of the Gadsden flag and I looking into getting one.
