This group assembled here in the SigForum is definitely in the top 5% in the country for being politically aware and active. We know the names of our senators and representative, and probably contact them, at least from time-to-time.

Tucker Carlson is the only political commentary show I watch on television, and Rush Limbaugh is the only political commentary I listen to on the radio. Still, at times, I’ll turn them off. I just can’t stand another minute of either griping about what someone on the Left has said or done, or (in the case of Tucker) listening to some leftist idiot trying to explain away what someone has said or done. I’ve been there the last couple days, I just need a break

I've unplugged from the political scene in the last few weeks. I've been busy this summer and the break from the insanity has been nice.

Quite natural to take a break now and then.

I'm with you all the way. Recently I've felt like I was just winding myself up with no real outlet for the angst.

Luckily, it's hunting season so I've just shutdown my political 'news' intake and focused on getting out there and having fun trying to kill deer and elk.

Similar for me, Rush during the day, plays on the pee cee while I"m working and I'll turn it off from time to time.

Fox news is off, Hannity radio is off,

The break is good, still need to know what they are up to out there.

I miss the Neal Boortz show, it was always entertaining...

I too am fed up with the entire spectrum of politics and what passes for government today. Both parties. All the personalities involved. All of it.
I guess the thing that most disgusts me is how many people lie to further their aims, and how often large segments of the country fervently believe the lies and want me to believe them as well.

I am absolutely sick and tired of politics.

I used to listen to Rush a few times a month. I don't listen at all now, ever.

Tucker once or twice a week is now Tucker once or twice a month.

Part of the reason I followed politics so closely in the past couple of years is because I wanted-- and expected-- the traitors of the attempted coup to be brought to justice. That ain't gonna happen.

Screw it all.

Removed all social media apps from my phone at the last election. I used to be obsessed with "Intelligence gathering" and staying up to date and ready to have that heads up/ early warning of our impending doom/ catastrophe/ gun ban/ whatever. I realized that I give money and vote and educate and share with my friends, family, and customers. That is about all I am willing to do because I will NEVER run for office.

So I realized I can't do jack crap to stop an earthquakeicanealypse or the "fall of the Empire." And I sleep better. And I am healthier not focusing on this stuff- including politics.

So I follow a couple guys I like on IG and check the Lounge. Smile

Well, this is why we have two basic types of threads here in SIGforum- poltical threads, and everything else, and ne'er their twain shall meet.

I can't say that I tire of politcs. What I tire of is the willful ignorance, the blindness, the wrongheadeness, the obstinance and the hatefulness.

Not long ago, I was watching a Jordan Peterson interview in which he said that the United States in the late 1960s was divided as it's ever been (the Civil War not withstanding, of course). It's quite rare that I find myself disagreeing with Professor Peterson, but when he said that, I had to laugh. Yes, this nation was divided in the late 1960s, but there was still at least some common ground between the reasonable components of the opposing sides. In today's America, however, there is absolutely no common ground between the sides. They are polar opposites, with inestimable distance between them. If you can't reason with those whom you disagree, then we become Lincoln's 'house divided', and you know what that means, eventually. "It will become all one thing or all the other."

I don't get tired of it, but frustrated? All the damn time.

I am just trying to figure out how the mainstream of the Democratic Party has become so openly anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-capitalist, etc.

It is infuriating how close to getting power they are. 2020 will be interesting, but if Trump doesn't win more states than he did in 2016, or even loses, then I will never understand it.

And don't get me started on the political media.

My take on this is that the divisiveness started in the late 1960s, and it has been a steady slide downhill ever since then.

I base this on the fact that I left the continental U.S. in February 1966 to take a job in Puerto Rico. I was there for about two and a half years. When that project was completed and I returned home to the mainland, the changes were astounding. I did not recognize the country that I came home to.

I suppose that if I had been here during those years I might not have noticed the change as much, the frog being heated in a pot of water effect. But having left the country and then returning to see the changed society, rather than being here while the changes were occurring, the change was shocking.

Yes I'm sick of it.

I am sick of the leftist side of politics, trying to rule my life, going out of their way to fuck with me and my kind in every possible way they can. Is it fair for me to say it is one-sided? I don't care. 20 years ago, it was business as usual. Now, it is completely insane, especially the last several years.

I get tired of it occasionally, but in a couple of days I'm back reading it.

I love watching the globalists getting exposed and the media desperately trying to cover for them. I get the feeling they're approaching the end of the rope, I hope the true end of the rope is a noose that they all hang by.

Ever since we cut the cord a few months ago and went to HULU, I very, very rarely watch TV. I never listed to radio. I get most of my political news from here. Most of my news comes from online source, Fox news a few times a day. Breitbart once per week or so, and the rest here.

The politics does become exhausting. I do miss OAN since we cut the cord.

I’m sick of politics on forums, at work, at the gym, at home, in the union office, etc. Even though it’s easy to get me engaged I’m slowly weaning myself off the topic. I try real hard to avoid opening some of these threads.

Been sick of politics for quite some time!

Watch a few minutes of OANN, Foxnews. And that is it. Tired of hearing about how gubbermint can't do shit, because of the freaking swamp critters. Repubs as well as democraPs.
