Is it really as uncomfortable to live under a rock as it appears?

In case you didn't notice, about half the country voted in the last Presidential election for a genuine crook and full-on fraud who escaped indictment for blatantly flaunting well-established rules for handling America's secrets only because of utter disdain by DC elites for the opposing candidate. Were all of those people "bloggers"?

You would have to go back to the 1860s to find an America more divided than now.

You aren't the only one, TMats. Unless I'm at my mother's, I don't subject myself to the daily litany of Fox News (that's the only thing she has on). It drove me NUTS during the asshole's 2 terms, seeing how the MSM just IGNORED his outright criminal actions (I speak of Hussein). So "the news" in my household hasn't been on the TV in over 10 years.

The only time I actively listen to "news" is when I'm in the car. And that "exposure" is limited to how long it takes me to get somewhere within a 20-25 mile radius of my house, so not long at all. I'm lucky to have Conservative Talk Radio through the Salem Network which features Hugh Hewitt (comes on too early, so I don't listen to him and SOMETIMES he can lean a little too left for my taste), Sam Malone (local Houston guy...HILARIOUS and sometimes fills in for Mike Gallagher), Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Sebastian Gorka (LOVE that he replaced the closet Libtard Michael Medved), "The Sage" Larry Elder, and then it used to be Jay Sekulow, but I think he was replaced.

I know some folks suggest listening to the "enemy" talk shows just to see what their inane platforms are, but I can't bring myself to listen to more than about 18 seconds of their stupid drivel.

No...you're not the only one.

p.s. This fantastic forum is my source for news. If it's something of interest, I will delve into it further and do some research. We all know the MSM has their evil agenda-driven mantra financed by Soros, et. al., and it probably will take the second coming of Christ to change that.

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

I study up before elections and voting is important to me. It doesn't take me 700 days to figure out who I am going to vote for president though. The length of the election cycle has gotten a little ridiculous! I feel free to take breaks.

I have a few SIGs.

The problem with being sick of politics is that you have to live with the results of the politics.

I'm afraid that the pro-Trump crowd will burn out from the constant harassment and media browbeating, and not show up to vote for him again. The lefties are all hot and bothered, so they will show up.

You could not possibly be more wrong, but thanks for the jab at us. We're so fragile that we won't show up to vote for the only man who can save us, because the left frowns at us and calls us names. Really? Roll Eyes

Landslide. Gonna be a landslide so tremendous that it will make the '72 election seem like a squeaker.

Speaking as a Deplorable with a whole lot of liberal family and friends, the years succeeding the absolute binge-drinking of Liberal tears in November of '16 have only hardened me against the harassment and brow-beating. I want them to be even move surprised this next go-round, and he'd have to just about take his dick out on camera, and repeatedly stomp on it with both feet to make me reconsider at this point. Literally or figuratively, take your pick.

They want to no borders, no walls, no USA at all. They want taxpayer-funded everything and they want US disarmed. Fuck. That. Shit. There is no burning out at this point. I'm not burning. There is only cold calculation. I'm cool and calm, and I will carry on. Trump is my chosen representative as President, and I will choose him again.

As for what the OP is asking about, I've completely withdrawn from all social media (I differentiate between internet forums and social media, chicken and the egg kinda thing). I don't bring up anything political with anyone I know, and when they do, I change the subject.

The last time I overtly talked politics with my in-laws was on the night of Benghazi and all the news was streaming in, we were in a hotel suite on vacation. It ended just short of a shouting match between myself and my father-in-law. We don't talk politics much anymore. Hell, we don't talk much anymore. I think a fair amount of that was that what I said that night wound up being correct, and as much as it pissed him off at the time, him being wrong and me being right over the long term has only pissed him off more. Just shoulda kept my mouth shut.

I went years being good about keeping my mouth shut until a few weeks ago when my neighbor, the retired Marine went on a tirade about kids getting killed in schools because of the NRA and somehow concluded with "we should kill 'em all and let God sort them out," which I took to mean "assault weapon owners." I responded by pulling up the FBI crime stats about weapons used and he had to excuse himself to his garage to go smoke a bowl of weed while I talked to another neighbor who was railing on about the 500 people killed at Las Vegas, so I pulled up the official death toll and he seemed gut-punched that his imagined number was ten times too high. Stoned Marine comes back with a skunk cloud on him and starts on about how "well, if most people get killed with hands and fists, then who needs an assault rifle to defend their home?" I looked him straight in the eye and said "me, because I'd rather shoot an intruder than take blows to the head in front of my family. Not all of us are Marines, I'm just a guy."

Go me, making friends and stuff. An icy vibe came over the conversation and the other neighbor abruptly changed the subject to the VW van the Marine was restoring, and things have been remarkably brusque ever since. I guess we've just gotten to this point; where you can be statistically and factually correct and manage to just about enrage an otherwise rational, logical, grown adult who has been judged by our government as fit to wield arms in defense of the nation, simply because you don't see things his way. This "yeah, but I was trained by the best" mentality is going to kill the gun culture that blindly worships servicemen.

You are correct, the lefties will probably show up. But they have not really been a force to show up at the polls in the past.

But the more moderate Democrats, and Independents, will be disgusted by the current behavior and the extreme ideology of the party. The far left has never been a factor in elections.

Pissing off the Trump people will NOT shrink them into beaten wimps. In fact, it will be quite the opposite.

I have to watch Fox News preferably Laura Ingram and Greg Gutfield to couneract the leftist attitudes and mutterings I hear in CA.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Sick or not, you got to pay attention to what the hell is going on, especially when the effing commies are hell bent on destroying this great country and trying to bring down the only man standing in their way. As much as I try to keep up, my knowledge pales in comparison to that of many fine members here.

I am not at all worried about what will happen in 2020, never have been. But I am tired of listening to politics.

I watch F&F in the morning sometimes and I do have Rush on during the day but that is about all the news I watch. As others have said, they all make you listen to what the crazy liberals have said that day and I'm just done with that.

Definitely get tired of it. But I really enjoy listening to Rush. I've found him to be honest and very accurate. His perception is uncanny. But he is also fun and injects humor into his show and can keep it light. I can easily listen to him everyday.

Went on a week long fishing trip last week to Raystown Lake, and all the guys were looking forward to unplugging from the real world and politics.
I downloaded Dan Bonginos book Spygate on Audible for the ride, wow! Got my blood pressure right back through the roof LOL.

I have not watched or listened to the news in years. I go on line to xfinity web site that has news, sports, and "entertainment". I don't care what the UK Royals or the Kar-ass-ions are doing so skip right over that, but if a headline is of interest I check to see what the 'fake news' has to say. My next stop is the Sig Forum to see what really happened. Smile

I get fatigued by the fight. But fight we MUST because evil uses politics to oppress the innocent and has since the beginning of time. We can take a break but we can't ignore the fight because it will come for us regardless.

As for politics. Its is a pit of snakes. Plain and simple. No, I do not waste my time with it. Too many other important things to tend to.
