Ordered 5 tires last night. Less than $400
We'll see how long the shipping takes & what the date stamps are when they arrive.
It's a new model tire, so I don't expect them to be too old.

Discount tire will price match.

-edit- I see I was too late but for future reference Discount Tire will match the best you can find anywhere else.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

But, neither Discount nor TireRack offers the tire ordered, which is the new model replacing the offering from those 2.

And there’s the answer to what the next part of me says, “Heck kind of car has tires that 5 of them cost under $400?” Smile

P250UA, I’m glad you brought this up. I’m coming up on needing another set of tires and I see Simple Tire has a sale going on that puts the tires I want to try next at a little less than they were a few years ago. The rest of the tires are up $75 a piece or more over what I paid for them in the past.

I'm a glutton for punishment & am going to dance with Sir Lucas.
Bought a 75 Midget. 155/80-13 tires are mighty cheap.

Apparently, if you stare at tires long enough on Simple Tire, they send you a 5% off code provided you signed up to get texts from them. That pushed me over the edge and I bought some tires that were already 15% lower than anywhere else. They’re Continental highway tread which will go on the spare 20” wheels for my truck. Then, WalMart has Goodyear DuraTracs for $291 a piece; the lowest I’ve ever seen for the 18” wheels on my truck, so I bought a set of those too.

The good news is that tire prices seem to be coming down over the last few months. The Goodyear Wranglers w/Kevlar have dropped from $290 to $240. It’s not the $175 I paid a few years ago, but the price is heading the right direction. Other tires I was considering also seemed to drop a bit.

My 5 are still sitting in a stack, mounted & balanced, but waiting on brake work to be completed before getting them on the car.

Good to hear that prices are improving. Both the Explorer & Expedition are on 20s & likely around $1k for a new set, probably late 23 or early 24.

I hope you don’t have 21” wheels on the Explorer. When I logged into my wife’s WalMart+ account to buy the DuraTracs, her Explorer ST was the vehicle already in the system. Out of curiosity, I hit find tires that fit. Eek

Just used Simple Tire to order some 35x10.5x17s for my Toyota Pickup project.

Always did my best to get a price match at Discount Tire when buying tires but they don't sell this size... and I wanted a skinny tire.

Impressed with their service, called and talked with someone to see if any rebates were available and they got my price down another hundred dollars. Cheaper than anywhere else by nearly $300. That was 8 hours ago and 3 of the four are already in transit and to be delivered tomorrow.

That's awesome vtec, glad others are having similar results.
I'll have no problem using them again when the Exploder or Exped need a set.

20s luckily.
Michelin LTX will run around $1k all-in.
Same in 21" was something like 1600, before install.

That are Kenda Klevers. Really wanted to stay on 33s but steering and suspension upgrades won't allow it with the height 33s look best at (in my opinion).

At the lift height I need for mods, the 33s just don't fill the wheel wells to my liking.

All 4 tires showed up already. Highly Impressed.

Wheels are inbound and the body will be getting replaced with one with fresh paint and a regular truck bed going on in place of the current flatbed/roll bar deal.

33s would've looked small on that rig.

Agreed. I really like the look of 33s with only a slight lift but I'm going to 3-link the front in the future. I'll see how creative I can get then to get it lower. It's got a Toyota diesel under the hood so shouldn't have too much trouble turning those 35s. Upgraded to Tundra brakes as well.
