Strange but I’ve had similar dreams the last six months or so. Maybe something in the water around here.
I took a generic of some sort ten plus years ago but then had my prostate removed due to relatively minor prostate cancer so no more drugs at all since then.

I took FloMax for nearly 2 years with little benefit. Did have colorful dreams often, not particularly different than typical personal history.

Similar in subject, when I quit smoking, I used nicotine patches. If I forgot to take off the patch, I would have some really crazy, vivid dreams and remember them well.

I took it when I had a kidney stone, but don't remember any kind of dreams like you're having, I feel cheated.

I’ve never taken flomax, but frequently when I get a new prescription or a change in dosage of an existing one, I have vivid dreams I remember until I adjust.

I’ve been on tamsulosin (generic Flomax) for several years. It has lowered my blood pressure, helps me fall asleep, and reduced my trips to le Pissoir, but I can’t say I remember any increase in vivid dreams.

I’ve also noticed that there seems to be a variation in effectiveness of the generic, depending on which country it’s manufactured in. The German-made stuff is more reliable than the placebos that came from a Chinese factory.

I was trying to not be crude yet address how someone's love life can be affected as a side effect
I am on .4 MG dose and have been for years
I have not had to have an increase in rx strength to help with the urination symptoms that you experienced
If I miss a dose it is very apparent within a day or two
I will also add that drinking a small glass of red wine in the evening helps
I'm not sure of really long term effects of flowmax

I think it’s called “lucid dreams”
I was taking Chantix to stop smoking and it was a side effect. At first I was concerned about it. None of the dreams were bad.

After a bit of time had passed I kinda enjoyed it. It’s like a movie you have some control of while watching and yet you are in it.

As vivid as the dream was I would remember it vividly.

I stopped smoking and the Chantrix and the dreams went away.
You may want to mention it to your Doc.

I never had any occurrence of vivid dreams, but the stuff (Flomax) made me feel like I was on a perpetual hangover. I got off it and went to saw palmetto, and beta sitosterol supplements instead.
They are not quite as effective, but keeps things flowing without the "druggy" feeling.

I normally wake up daily at 3:00 am which means going to piss. On days off I'll lie back down & try to catch another hour of sleep. It's during this time of semi-consciousness when I have disjointed, nonsensical dreams.

I never associated it with the medication, but I may have to draw a parallel here based on these experiences.

They put me on Flomax because I had a bladder infection when in the hospital for a stroke.
The dreams were very vivid and I didn't connect them with Flomax at the time.

I used Flomax for several months after getting out of the hospital and the dreams continued. I don't use it any more since I don't have any problems with my bladder.

Some meds can do that, one of the side effects of malaria prophylactics is lucid/vivid dreams. I know that I experienced it.

No vivid dreams tho. If anything Flomax helped a little 4 years ago. Addressing the issue is getting toward the top of my to do list. Currently my doctor is concerned about PSA numbers, a past biopsy was negative. I see the next step is surgical remediation.

Anyone on Flomax type product needs to avail themselves of the current procedures being used as the problem is progressive and will not stop or reverse itself. Having had cataract surgery and lens implants in both eyes now, a comparison leaves prostate treatment looking practically medieval.

I'd rather have 4 teeth extracted first. And I am, but Medicare isn't paying 85% of it.

Been taking generic Flomax for about 10 years for BPH. No lucid dreaming noted. Urologist also recommended finasteride twice a week in addition to Flowmax. Finasteride has an interesting side effect itself - it grows hair on your head! Nearly 72 and still have a full head of hair, no thinning detectable!

The drawback is I have to keep paying my barber and he’s been raising his rates recently. At least dreaming is cost-free.

Been on Flomax for 2 years. Still taking it a year after radiation therapy for prostrate cancer. Haven’t had the vivid dreams. It does help with things.

I took Flo-max for years. I also experienced vivid dreams, including flying out of bed onto the floor when I dreamed I had to swerve to miss a car.

I've been of it for 3 years, and I still have the dreams.

Typically, when you dream you are in a certain place, there is something wrong with the location. With these dreams, everything is correct.

Maybe I’m being dense here but is it a side effect of the medicine directly or are you maybe getting a deeper sleep with better bathroom schedules?

This is all under the assumption you woke up during the night to urinate more frequently before like I did.

After reading all the replies I guess it is a side effect, never been on that medicine specifically, interesting.

Not taking Flomax, but it's getting close. My kidneys are not a 100% capacity, so I occasionally take Lasix and it makes me piss like a race horse.

I did read one of the side effects of flomax could be an erection that could last up to 4 hours.

Had to laugh. Been on that stuff since my heart attack back in '06. Lasix (a diuretic) stands for lasts 6 hours... BS! Lasts more like double that!
