My Grandfather was a Toledo Ohio Policeman for 44 years. He was a giant of a man and my hero. 50+ years is truly amazing!!! Niech Zyje P-220 Steve

That is something. I was in my line of work from 1970 to 2017, GM dealership parts department, everything from counter man to manager then back to counterman. Car dealerships, at least the ones I worked at usually were bought and sold several times. Ten dealerships in that period, only three are under the same name, two of the three have new owners, only one is still owned by the same person that bought it in 1984. In 1979 while I was assistant manager of one I got acquainted with an older gentleman. He started in the business in 1929 and stayed in it for 50 years. At that time I had only been in for 9 years, 50 was beyond belief for me. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name but I remember his face. I only made it 47, he was a much better man than I. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. My co worker just up and quit last week after 20 years after the boss brought in a nepotism hire a few years ago and couldn’t handle the personality differences any more. My dad worked at a big west coast utility company and there was a guy who had 50+ years in.

My father made 38 years with the same company. My mother made 20 with 2 different companies with 5 years off between to have us kids. A Perpetual Disappointment...

There's a doorman at The Greenbrier who's been there for over 50 years. I met him a year and a half or so ago... just a heck of a pleasant man! God bless America.

This past month, my grandfather made 55 years working on the same farm. He's 81 and still going, though he doesn't do as much as he used to. Raked hay over the weekend in 90 plus degree heat with an open cabbed tractor and never complained. Hell, my dad isn't far behind him. 40 years working the same chunk of land. ___________________________ No thanks, I've already got a penguin.

Here at the small manufacturing company I work at, we had two recent retirements with 50+ years of service. We have quite of few, both past and present with 40+ years of service. Bill Gullette

My sister was honored for hitting the 50 year mark last year. She went to work for a gov't alphabet agency right out of college and is still working there. Says she is going to retire this year - I'll believe it when I see it. When she went to work there she wasn't allowed to tell anyone where she worked - now they have a gift shop in the lobby. LOL.
