Happy Birthday Flashguy. My 74th was yesterday, the 20th. It's an awkward time of year to have a B-Day especially when you're a kid.

Thank you very much! Yes, it is an awkward time for a birthday. My parents tried very hard when I was young to make it a separate occasion from Christmas. One way it was done was to delay putting up the Christmas Tree until my birthday, a policy that continued long after I was a kid. While I was serving in USAF I knew that my folks were putting up their tree as I was doing mine wherever I was stationed. It was a bond that helped a lot with homesickness.

Happy birthday indeed.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
