I have worn New Balance shoes for decades, but the last few pairs I have tried are cut too small, and too narrow as to rated width, where before they seemingly fit to size/width for a very long time. Too narrow a toe box is really a big problem, as is the sole too small for the upper; a lot of my foot bulges over the sole, and it feels like I'm walking on ice skates.
Maybe I'm not finding the right NB shoe, or perhaps there are much better choices to consider? I don't run anymore, just walk pavement if that helps. Thanks for your suggestions.

I work in a shoe store, if you use to like New Balance, try the 928 version 3, they had complaints when they changed to version 2 so they just came out with version 3 at the beginning of May. The pedorthist & I were comparing them & while they look almost identical, they do fit "roomier" & you can get them up to 6E (super wide), they come in black, white, or brown. The new Brooks Ghost 9 does seem to fit a lot of people well too. Or try an OrthoFeet sneaker, or the SAS Tour Mesh.

I agree. All my shoes (walking, running, boots, slippers), including New Balance, are size 9.5 D. I tried some NB running shoes recently and had to get 9.5 2E.
Sorry, I don't have a recommendation on wider shoes/brands.

I have the Brooks Dyad 8 in 13 4E. First pair of Brooks and I'll be getting another. They've held up for about a year but definitely need to be replaced now. I'm pretty hard on shoes so I'm happy they've held up well.
