I was hoping for nothing being done with gun control. I didn't think T would make this an issue. Things being done to strengthen the existing laws, teachers with guns, etc... all for it.

Don't forget to destroy your bump stock by midnight if you still have one! Up to 10 years in the fed pen along with a $250K fine if you are in possession after midnight. (I've never owned or wanted one, for the record) https://www.govinfo.gov/conten...94IZ04_rj8v9Wj3YRv80 “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Admittedly I don’t have cable, but it doesn’t seem like this was publicized very much. Did they push this on the news that I missed? I know ignorance of the law isn’t an excuse... but.... ----------------------- be safe.

I have only seen mention of it on local news, and that is only because Clark Aposhian (a local) has been fighting it constantly in the courts. That being said, I think bump stocks are stupid, but I don't agree with how The Administration went about the whole process.

Assuming you had a bump stock prior to midnight, are you going to keep your pieces? If you are keeping them, why? Evidence of destruction, souvenir or some other reason? God Bless and Protect our Beloved President, Donald John Trump.

So should I just send the ATF a rubber band? Any specific brand? Or maybe the belt loop from my Wrangler jeans. "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Sad state of affairs....This comment from the TTAG atricle make light of what is unfortunately a VERY Serious situation:
I laughed, but it's NOT funny. I could care less about Bump Stocks (never even considered buying one), but this is a VERY Bad precedent. I'm sure RW Arms will be able to write this off (tax wise) as a business loss, this is NOT Right! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! I'm sure they'll pick someone to make an example out of, someone who cannot afford to put up much of a fight. ATF will be very picky about this and not just grab the first person they find. Then it will be very interesting to see what kind of outside help Mr. Test Case gets. If Mr. Test Case gets top flight legal help, look for all kinds of dirt to come out about how ATF picked on him and what went into the decision. Rest assured, it will have had nothing to do with public safety. Freewill Firearms 07 FFL, Class 2 SOT

Clark gets to keep his for a little while longer. SALT LAKE CITY — The U.S. Court of Appeals has issued a temporary stay on a ban for one Utah gun activist who is attempting to block the new rule that outlaws a gun accessory known as a bump stock in the U.S. starting next Tuesday. Clark Aposhian, chairman of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, argues in a lawsuit that the Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives violated the Constitution in prohibiting the device. "This is obviously about bump stocks but I think it speaks to something much bigger," Aposhian said previously. "This is about government overreach. This is about administration overreach." During the temporary stay, Aposhian is the only person who will be able to legally own a bump stock. The court granted the temporary stay on Thursday "for the purpose of giving the court adequate time to properly consider the motion," according to court documents. U.S. District Judge Jill Parrish had recently denied Clark Aposhian's request for a preliminary injunction, concluding he isn't likely to win the lawsuit he filed against the government on its merits. Aposhian appealed the ruling to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, seeking an injunction pending the appeal. "The court’s decision to stay the bump stock rule is an important recognition of the high stakes in this case. While the order is limited, the court recognizes that Mr. Aposhian has raised a substantial basis to question the rule’s validity," the New Civil Liberties Alliance, which filed the motion on Aposhian's behalf, said in a statement Thursday. The Trump administration in late December adopted a new federal rule that redefined the devices as "machine guns," therefore banning them under existing law. The rule directs owners to destroy or surrender their bump stocks to the ATF before it takes effect. https://www.ksl.com/article/46...ay-of-bump-stock-ban
