Simply looking for an account to bank my emergency fund. Getting virtually no interest in my current credit union. Not looking for investment advice. This is just gonna be cash built up for emergency use.
These go to eleven.

220-9erFind one that has good service and a good webpage for your needs.
They all pay just above nothing, as you know, and so that's really not much of a consideration.
For slightly better rates you could try an account at Vanguard or Fidelity that's designed for your purposes. They're pretty safe, from a practical standpoint too.

Flash-LBSince I can't get a decent return on a savings or bank account anywhere, I just put it in the same place I have our checking, Chase Bank.

ElToroYour local bank or CU rates will likely suck compared to the online banks. i have my cash at Ally 1.25% easy to open online and transfer back to my daily bank. Some places as good as 1.6%. Navy federal is only .25% on savings.
Rates are heading up. They were near 0% for a long time. The problem with much higher cash savings rates means mortgage and other borrowing rates are much higher. Great if your a saver, terrible if you need a mortgage or car. Which then leads to what happens when 100% safe investment like cash earns more than the rate on yo ur mortgage. Still aggressively prepay it?
