Nine weeks ago my wife and soul mate of 36 years was taken from me by endometrial cancer that had metastasized to her liver and lungs. Today I got the initial diagnosis that I either have common lymphocytic leukemia or lymphoma. The irony of it all. I just thank God that I was able to be here as my wife's care giver throughout her ordeal. Thanks for letting me vent.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how difficult things must be right now for you.
Please don't give up hope, even though it seems you're getting kicked in the gut while you're already down, you very well may have many good years ahead of you. My sister-in-law is almost through chemo for lymphoma. Last week she was scanned for the first time since starting treatment, and all signs of the lymphoma had vanished. I hope you chose to fight, really fight, for as long as the Dr.'s tell you there's reason to.

Camper, I am very sorry for what has gone on in your life recently. It is hard to battle and cope with cancer even when there is no tragedy, and the sadness-you have been through compounds the agony of cancer.
I had a rare lymphomic type cancer in my neck in 2003. I am lucky to be here, but back then my younger age and overall stamina helped me so much. The treatments today are nothing like what I went through back then, but nothing has changed about cancer.
Be strong , have faith, and know that you are special.
Keep us posted as to how you are getting along. Please.

Cancer is a horrible disease, you're a great guy for being in the caregiver role for your wife. Just being there for her must have meant a great deal to her..my prayers go out to you.
Regards, Will G.
