I was doing great with Verizon and then they sold out FIOS to Frontier in my area. Frontier jacked the shit out of the price.

My only other choice was BrightHouse so I went over to them and then Spectrum bought them.

Another price increase.
This is where I'm really hoping 5G cellular will have its biggest impacts in the future. If we can get equivalent or better speeds and reliability, we could see the current cable paradigm totally change when multiple 5G providers become available breaking up the current monopolies that exist throughout the US.

Few years ago my Daughter moved to a rural setting. New house.
Just to make sure, she ask Charter, before she bought the house, about service. They said no problem. They came out and wired the house, and ran cable from the house to the pole at the road. Daughter moved in... Nothing worked. Charter took three weeks to admit they had no cable on that road and no plans to add it. Roll Eyes

Endeavor to persevere.

Like (all) these companies they will offer a price for yearly service and within a few months will uptick the charge to you for increased expensives, they’ll tell you. In other words take what they tell you with a grain of salt,in other words it’s usually BS.

That happens regularly locally. CenturyLink or Mediacom will assure people service is available to a specific address, then it turns out it's not there. When moving, it looks like one needs to verify active service and speeds before closing. Perhaps statement with that info from the current owner would work.

We only have Spectrum internet. It is not cheap, but it is very fast(for around here) and dependable. So= good.
