I think it was about the worst I’ve driven in. Subzero temps and 50mph white outs for miles and miles. All the blowing snow got compacted into ice.

I regularly drive in snow but today won the prize.

I've been in this white shit all day.

You got hit with the lake effect pretty good from what I'm seeing on the weather.
Other side of the lake, we got about 3-4 inches of the light snow and blowing around with those gusts.
Shovel, and it blows back in an hour.

They're saying it's gonna warm up later in the week, 50 or so with rain on New Years Eve.

Visibility today ranged from zero to a few car lengths from blowing snow. Occasional drifts and icy spots made it rather dangerous. Many cars in the ditch and saw a semi truck stalled and high centered on a large snow drift in the left lane.

I lost count of how many semis I saw wrecked. I think the interstate between KY and Ohio has been closed most of the day.

No. I lived in the Midwest for 30+ years – Missouri and Minnesota. Now in comfy San Diego. Walked a half mile to lunch in shirtsleeves today.

We were supposed to drive 4 hours to Ohio today for Christmas with my parents. Didn't happen. The roads are solid ice and there are 3 foot drifts. We may try later in the week after it warms up...not looking forward to my utility bill this month.

I got caught in our cross country drive from Oklahoma through Texas. I was making only 40 miles a day before I had to stop and hole up in hotels. It was slow going even without the wrecks.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I’m driving as little as possible today but daughter and her fam drove 4 hours to get here.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I was on 2nd shift Wednesday through Friday so I drove in it going to work and coming home last night. Wasn't nice at all.
Only good thing was, all the asshole drivers weren't on the roads last night.
Normally takes me 20 minutes to get home, it took me about 40. I could see the ice and the wind was blowing horribly. Temperature when I left was -4 and the wind chill was -30.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

My son's car battery was(is still) dead after his shift in the ER last night. Had to pick him up at midnight. 15 hours after the snow stopped falling. The roads were about as bad as I've seen them. Salt not working at all. All blown over. Thankfully nobody on them.

My new X3 with AWD and brand new Blizzaks were a treat.

I drove about an hour 1 way to have lunch with a fellow Sigforum member MattW.
It was not terrible but that drive is usually only about 30 minutes.
Cold and super windy.
It was -4 without the windchill. Snow had stopped so it was just stuff blowing around but the roads were still covered with snow and ice as we generally rely on a pretreat and salt but it rained the entire day so no pretreat and temps in the single digits they did not even bother with salt.

We drove up to the metro area yesterday for family gatherings. The amount of people here that can't drive in winter conditions is astounding.
