We did not see any gorillas--I'm not sure there are any in Kenya. We did see baboons and chimpanzees, though.

Hunting has been illegal in Kenya since 1977. No guns. All shooting done with cameras now.

Certainly your guide carried a firearm, no?

When my wife and I were on safari in South Africa, our guide always had a rifle with him whenever we headed out from the lodge.

I never saw one. There may have been one in the vehicle, but the drivers didn't carry one.

Beautiful trip and animals! A bit too cuddly with the Rhino for me, though.

Man, those are amazing pics.

The leopard - Was he escaping from the hyenas? Big Grin

The cheetah - I know it is a very slender creature, but man, that pic looks almost like he's starving.

Great pictures, Flashguy! We just got back about three weeks ago (probably stayed in some of the same places) but your leopard and rhino pix are better than mine. Although, we did get some of a lioness taking down a zebra.

Beautiful pictures. You saw more lion than we did when we were in Botswana.
As far as the local game meat we loved Oryx and Warthog both very tasty.
