I served in Viet Nam with Jo Anne Worley's brother while she was on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In.

I was in a restaurant with my wife and some friends in the 1970s. Wilt Chamberlain was there eating with some other people.

One of our adult female friends was 4'7" and about 85 pounds. When we got up to leave, our petite female friend left her purse at the table. She whirled around to retrieve her purse. Wilt Chamberlain had walked up behind her. She face planted in his crotch.

I still laugh when I visualize it.

My parent's apartment was 3 houses down from where Patty Hearst was kept while she was kidnapped.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

One time I was in line at 7-11 and realized the guy in front of me was John Elway buying a coffee and a can of Skoal.

Ah, that reminds me...when I lived in San Francisco, it was in an apartment that had been converted from a corner market where Patty Hearst used to hang out as a schoolgirl.

When I lived in Houston, Moses Malone of the Houston Rockets bought the house a few houses down from us. I never once saw him.

While out shopping for a home, my wife and I looked at a house that the band Kool & The Gang once rented. We didn’t buy it.

On Christmas Day one year, I just missed meeting Morgan Freeman at Avis when I went to rent a car at Logan airport.

I was staying at a nice hotel in Casper Wyoming on a 1-week business trip. I believe Tuesday night was lingerie night in the lounge. We couldn't mess that so we sat there, drank too many beers and judged the talent. The talent was outstanding as was the lingerie.

I had to make a trip to the men's room. While standing there, doing my business, a couple of beauties came strolling in and proceeded to lift their dresses and grab their Johnsons to join me. I would have sworn they were babes.

In the early 70's I was on a Carib-Cruise and we were let off the boat for jungle training. After two days of very heavy rain the sun came out so I went for a walk around the cement barracks. While walking towards the head quarter's office I saw an officer in USMC uniform coming toward me from the HQ shack. I knew that he was not one of us and I couldn't understand how someone would be allowed to wear our uniform. I could never forget his stern face, covered with deep pock marks. I did not salute him as I passed, only said "good afternoon". He did not salute back but just gave me a half-assed smile and returned the salutation. Years later I realized that I had encountered Manuel Noriega one sunny afternoon in Panama. The whole situation was lame.

I just remembered this one. Recently Jimmy Carter’s son, Chip, revealed he smoked dope with Willie Nelson on the roof of the White House.

Well, in about 1971 I was in the Navy and attended Naval Nuclear Power School in Vallejo, Calf. I had this buddy by the name of Chip Carter who, over a few cool ones, claimed his daddy was governor of Georgia and would become President. I laughed and told him my daddy was an astronaut who would go to the moon. I was lying but he wasn’t. He was a smart kid who decided that Nuc school wasn’t for him and turned himself in as a drug user. I believe he was dishonorably discharged. I never saw or heard from him again. Source

I was within a whisker of going to Naval Nuc school in the fall of 1972.
