Usually about $160. I keep a folded $100 behind my drivers license in case of emergency, and usually 3 or 4 $20s, although I rarely use case.

If I'm traveling I'll bring substantially more, maybe another $500, just in case I have an issue.

I usually have $50 to 150 in my wallet always. I don't rely on my debit card for everything. Never can tell when something in cyberspace could fuck up. It's a good idea to have both in your wallet.

Debit card for 99% of in-person purchases, credit card for on-line. Makes it MUCH easier to track spending.

I just sold a car to a guy from TX who flew up to NC to buy it sight unseen. Before he left home I told him that it was cash or no deal. Well he flew up with quite a bundle and we closed the deal. (I’m glad no one stopped him for an asset forfeiture situation).
Anyway, looking at that stash of $100 bills led my wife and I to discuss this topic and at the end of the day I still carry only $10 to $20 in cash…She on the other hand… well you can guess!

$50-200 plus an extra hidden 100 bill. Also a few credit cards and my debit card. But after the last time my debit card got hacked (unknown where as I usually only used it at grocery stores) I only use it as an ATM card. Though lately all I have been using is my Apple Card built into my phone. Finding it very convenient.

What is it with wimmen? My wife carries $1000+ in her purse "in case we want to buy something unexpected."

I can't seem to convince her that's what credit cards are for. If her purse is stolen, we're fucked with no recourse. If my credit card is stolen/hacked NFCU takes care of it.

Minimum of $150 usually ablut $250. Due to hacking I no longer use a debit card except for Samsung pay at Publix or the Neighborhood Walmart grocery. I keep my credit card usage mainly for online purchases. If I am going to Costco or buying a large item I take the amount of cash needed. Too many card hacks have made me revert to cash.

I use Apple Pay whenever it’s available, and a debit card when it’s not.

I usually pay with a credit card, but I try to keep at least $100 in my wallet. I am not going to pay for mickey mouse stuff ( < $10 ) with a cc. Also, if it's a store I like ( eg, a gun store ) I pay cash if I can so they don't have to fork over 3% to the cc company.
