Graduated when I was 16 and never looked back. Didn't want to see them then. Don't want to see them now. The future doesn't seem like I'll see them either.

I went to a 5th year high school reunion. I was recovering from a parachute mishap and not walking well, and had some memory gaps. I couldn't remember some of the classmates. Never cared for any of them. Never bothered to find out about another reunion, if any have been held.

I am going to my 50th next week near Dallas. I have been to a few and always a good time. This time is different as my wife of 48 years passed away last Dec so going as a widower. We were high School sweethearts so most of my class knew her also.

I've never been to one of mine. I think it would be sad to see all those receding hairlines and pot bellies on the guys, and to see formerly beautiful young girls, now ravaged by the forces of entropy and made less beautiful even on the inside because they're wisened to this life. We'd talk about who got rich, who died, who went to jail, who went crazy, who found God and lost Him again, et cetera. Sad

Now, if I could step into the room and be 17 again, and everyone else would be 16 or 17 again, that would be worthwhile. But, just as Thomas Wolfe said, you can't go home again, so, I won't try.

I flew 2000 miles to go to my 50th. That was a few years back. I enjoyed seeing my old friends but I spent the most time talking to people that I never hung out with or even really knew back then. Funny how that worked out.

They had a wall that was called "In memory of". I was amazed at how many friends had died. Spent a lot of time thinking about that.

Para's right...you can never go back. I wouldn't go to another one.

My 40th is coming up in October, last one I went to was my 10th. Had no intention of going to this one then one of my best friends from HS, and we have stayed friends, said they were going and most of our Cross Country team from 79 was going to go, so shit, I decided to go. Our team went to states that year and we all have stayed somewhat in touch.

Never been to one, never will. The people I gave two hairs about I'm still friends with. Don't care enough about the rest to attend a reunion.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Went to my 30th 4 years ago. Had a great time. Amazingly, out of 170 in my class, only 2 had died, one on Pan Am 103 & another by heart attack.
Reconnected with old friends. No one who bullied me was there. Lucky for them, I probably would have started some shit.

Never went to one and never had a desire to go. I keep the past in the past and that philosophy has served me well.

My wife and I went to my 40th. Only about 30 people attended. For some reason they picked memorial day weekend. Out of a class of 150 about 40 have died. Since it was memorial day weekend, we traveled to Mooresville NC, we went to the Coke 600 in Concord NC.

I went to my 5th year reunion, and left after 15 minutes. After I left the reunion, I went to a local bar and met Roger E. Mosley, who played TC from the original Magnum P.I.

I am glad you enjoyed yours. I have never been to one. I wasn’t really close to anyone in HS. I worked and got out of school at noon everyday. I have not kept in touch with a single person since I graduated so I figure there is no need to go.

I have to admit, I really enjoy reunions. I grew up in a small town and everyone knew everyone. Almost no one ever left town and only a few moved in. A large chemical plant that opened in the mid 50's brought a few new faces to town over the years.

I graduated in 65 among a class of 92. 35 of the boys served in the military with 16 in Vietnam. I doubt any class since WWII had that many vets in it.

We have lost 18 members over the years. We have lost 2 this past year. One was the only Marine among us.

I was in charge of our 50th and we had a good time and a good turnout. One of our classmates was in the 64, 68 and 72 olympics as a gymnast.

My 55th will be in 2 yrs. Haven't been to any of the reunions that have been held. About 90% of my classmates didn't associate with me since I wasn't a "jock" or very popular. Can't see any reason to associate with them now.

I had my 20 year high school reunion a few years back. It was a great experience, but I went with an agenda.

I made amends with guys that I had conflict with. I made friends with people that I’d never spoken to. I reconnected with long lost friends. The most fun was talking to girls that I had crushes on. Yeah, that was by far the most fun.

I left my reunion with a lot of positivity and a whole lot of alcohol in my system.

All in all, everyone matured. Some aged better than others. If I can, I’ll definitely go to my next reunion.

You know, I was pretty much in the same situation. But at the 50th Reunion I found that the guys who had been the Jocks (and who pretty much had ignored me--no bullying, just inattention) were among the most friendly and seemed to have pleasant memories of me. You might discover the same phenomenon. You will be better remembered than you imagine.

Went to my 40th here last month. It was good to see the folks who were there. Missed the ones who were not. We have lost about 30 since graduation. Two within a couple of months prior. The guys pretty much due to high risk behavior, the girls sadly due to cancer. I was glad to see the ones who made it this far.

Same here. I was in a large high school; wasn't in any of "THE" cliques.

Probably because I was in JROTC; we weren't overly popular back in 1969.

I only keep in contact with one of my high school classmates.
