I let mine lapse long time ago. I already made the decision if I have to go back to instructing, I'm punching out.

Heard yesterday that some in the I.T crowd are trying to re-term “SLAVE” and “MASTER”.

I don’t program, but I can see that change being problematic.

There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

There was a news article recently in which there are some realtors who refuse to now use the term, and are pushing to rename the master bedroom.

Well, it just isn't appropriate to call it the submissive's bedroom.

I thought "flight deck" referred to the deck of an aircraft carrier. Does it have a new name now??

Well, depending on one's proclivities, it may be entirely appropriate. Big Grin

Usually it belongs to the master.

It may explain why the cockpit right seat comes with hand cuffs and what looks suspiciously like a ball gag.

Nope, there is a small Terra transponder, Alcor fuel flow totalizer, a square" Collins Nav receiver, a rare Collins "flat" com radio, and an ancient Northstar GPS on the bottom left... and my knobby knees.

It's ok, I respond to "my young padawan".

Don't know, as the news story didn't mention one, but I was curious about that myself. I guess it is more important to suddenly stop using a ubiquitous generally understood term, rather than finding a suitable replacement term first.

When did public school teachers all start calling themselves "educators"?

Meanwhile software programmers have co-opted a bunch of BS names like "Chief Enterprise Architect". An Architect I know that went through the housing bust of 2008 got pissed that every job posting for an Architect was not for an actual Architect.
