I do think those who have doing the Geico Ads over the years have been doing a spectacular job and very entertaining.
Most everything else I turn away as useless.
The GEICO motorcycle ads are stupid. Who daydreams about riding a motorcycle while engaged in work, then suddenly breaks into song, comes to and realizes it and stops, and then those around pick up the song and they all go on singing? (I confess I've never heard the songs before, too.) Idiotic.

And the ad (don't remember what it's for) where the lady is cooking something in the kitchen, and suddenly these 2 big guys start singing and dumping ice cream into bowls, and others watching begin to sing and dance, thrashing arms around. (One young lady seems disgusted and leaves the room. I feel the same way.) Shakalaka Boom!?

Confession, I've been known to hum-mumble Steppenwolfs Born to be Wild while waiting on my pedicure at Lee-Ho Fooks massage and manicure spa....

Is it wrong to want to throw Limu Emu and Doug into a wood chipper feet first?

Must be cultural differences. I believe that is Run DM and early rap group singing one of their hits with words changed. For your viewing pleasure:

The only series of Commercials that I have recently found tolerable were the AllState Mayhem Commercials.

We get lots of personal injury plaintiff lawyer commercials around here. They are godawful. I usually hit the mute button if the remote is nearby.

I agree that the insurance and pharmaceutical commercials are terrible!

I'm really tired of Joe Namath, arguably the most overrated NFL QB in history, hawking Medicare Supplement insurance. And the Finish dishwasher soap commercial that states "We waste up to 20 gallons of water every time we pre-rinse dishes". Who the Hell would actually believe that anyone uses half a bathtub of water to pre-rinse dishes?

Its a reminder that I'm in target demographic for free TV. It implies that boomers can't afford cable if this demographic is targeted so heavily on free TV. I told my wife I liked it better when I was in a younger target demographic, and was "A Pepper!"

Pharmaceutical ads. I really prefer not to see Cindy Lauper in her latest ad.

Then there are the USAA, Golli, some father/son team selling a miracle cure for arthritis pain. Too many others to name.

^^^^^ The list of potential side effects of the pharmaceuticals always appears to be worse than the ailments they supposedly alleviate.

flashguy,
“scoop there it is, scoop there it is, scoop there it is. Then the lady of the house and her daughters boyfriend, break into the funky chicken dance. I’m glad to see blacks hawking commercials. They are as buffoonish as whites.

Do "normal" people really act that way? I have never been inspired to behave so silly.
