I know the title is almost redundant but is it just me or are ads getting more stupid?

The Liberty Mutual ads I think are tied for first place with Progressive. Based solely on the ads there is no way in hell I would ever buy their product.

Geico is now in the running trying to hit the low bar with the basketball player running around.

The emu is hideous.

On line gambling has recently became legal in Michigan, apparently.
The ads for it are never ending.
And I dont care who ate Ashton Kutchers Chee-tos.
And the GEICO ad with the basketballer is intolerable, too.

Yes, the TV ads are definitely getting more wacky. The beanpole basketball guy is especially annoying. And why is another basketball guy setting up home at Wendy's (and obcessing about his bobblehead)?

Some one in advertising actually figure out that recurrent annoying adds actually work.

Kind of like naming your latest food offering.. "the angry burger" or such....

Record and fast fwd, or hit mute. Or stop watching broadcast tv. Easy-peasy. So easy an emu can do it.

Commercials are the main reason I quit watching regular TV years ago.

There's a reason the Mute button on the remote is always the first one to wear out.

Are they ever

I remember the day when most adverts were for stores, food, snacks, motor vehicles, soda pop, household consumables, toys, and the like. Now most of 'em seem to be for gambling, drugs, and ambulance-chasing lawyers.

Haven't seen any pot adverts, yet, though. Almost surprised by that.

We don't have live TV any longer. We just watch replays on Hulu, Discovery+, etc. Commercials are apparently for dumb people - which seems to be a growing segment of our population.

I swear, pharmaceutical ads are the most annoying goddamn ads there are! I remember fondly the days when they weren’t allowed on television.

Besides the fact that advertising companies are dreaming up this nonsense , SOMEBODY is looking at the presentations and giving the go ahead to run it . And pay good money for that crap .

I generally click away on all ads.
I never understood those who waited for "Super Bowl" ads like another sporting event?
I do think those who have doing the Geico Ads over the years have been doing a spectacular job and very entertaining.
Most everything else I turn away as useless.
