gearhoundsNot that I would watch it as the NFL has been dead to me for several years now, even if I wasn’t a fan, I have desire to see that vapid moronic pop singers face as much as people at work are complaining about it. “So don’t watch it” is my reply- the choice is theirs.

WaterburyBobExcellent. The NFL deserves no coverage here.

abnmacvSuper Bowl is a good time to go to an indoor range as lots of free lanes.

smschulzWell, it's not really a
Super Bowl without the Cowboys anyway.

V-TailBack in the 1980's when I lived and worked in the Denver area, Super Bowl was one of my favorite days.

honestlouI am certainly not objecting to your decision, and not even bitching about it. But for the sake of discussion, I wouldn't personally put the commercials in the same class as most of the bullshit.
The commercials are a thing of their own, and it's understandable that advertisers will debut new commercials and/or marketing campaigns during the SuperBowl, as it generally has a high viewership. One could argue whether or not that means that the advertisers support the NFL. I'd say not in a general sense.
Also, one need not watch the Superbowl to see the ads, as many are dropped early, will be shown by other parties, etc. And certainly while many will debut during the Superbowl, they will also be shown during other broadcasts, and via streaming services.
Just playing devils advocate, if BudLight has an interesting new ad that runs during the Superbowl, but also runs elsewhere, would we be allowed to discuss that ad? We've got a longrunnig thread on the BudLight advertising debacle; it certainly seems appropriate to discuss any new advertising there at least.

mcrimmThere was a time I loved this game. Hell, I lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin in the 60’s and went to many games. My father was manager of the local phone company who received passes to every game.
I haven’t watched a game in 5 years unless visiting someone who had it playing. While I enjoy collage ball, that could change soon.
Thanks Para.

They, too, have been ruined, and on top of that, these corporations are funding the woke fuckery of the NFL.

The St. Louis County Republican Central Committee is hosting a Super Bowl Party, as a fund raiser for the office.
I told the Chairman this was a bad idea...
I bet there aren't many attendees.
The way the NFL treated St. Louis in the Rams exit turned me off from NFL well before the race pandering and social justice warrioring. There are plenty of people there that have the same feeling still.
I'll be looking for shed antlers instead of watching "The Big Game."
