BytesI have no interest in NFL, NBA, and MLB since the DEI, BLM, LGBTQ, etc. took them over. I used to plan my fall and winter Sundays on which NFL games were televised. NBA has been dead to me for over ten years. MLB I used to watch the world series. That stopped two years ago. Fuck'em.

AGREED 1,000%!!! You will not find one objection coming from my corner...
Now...if you do this with the Stanley Cup, we're gonna have to wrassel!!!

I agree with much of what you said. It is nice to see the good guy do well. The QB for the 49ers was the last in his draft and is going up against the number one draft QB. For that reason, I'm rooting for Brock Purdy. Seems like a good dude.
I'll watch it but it won't determine whether I'm sad or happy the following week.

ArtieSI completely understand your position, appreciate that you are clear about it, and have the greatest personal respect for you.
I will also say, in defense of the individual, not the system, that I have known at least 4 professional football players, one of whom was a hall of fame guy who played for Chicago, and had a Superbowl ring. The men I knew and worked with were of multiple races. All were hard working, decent, intelligent, contributing members of society. They owned businesses, employed people, volunteered for organizations, or served as peace officers. All were polite and most were active in their local communities, giving both of their time, and their resources.
It is a shame that a vocal minority coupled with the weak-kneed, craven institutions and corporations that kow-tow to them have tarnished a game and the enjoyment of its spectators, that was invented in this country, and which has so much history and tradition behind it.
It's also appalling that public money funds stadia, lining billionaires' pockets.
If sports have any purpose, other than the participation of the players and the enjoyment of the audience, it is to give us something to unite over. Sports should be outside of politics, and outside of the conflicts of culture. It is unfortunate when we lose commonalities that once bound us together as a people, and a nation.
I'm sorry that we have lost football.

Not from me. My dislike of team and most spectator sports goes back far predating my membership. Recently, as part of a reshuffling of my TV channel lineup, I did away with
all the sports channels, every one, because I never watched them anyway. But that was just mere dislike. These antics of the players, teams and sponsors have turned it to outright hostility.

rizzleIgnoring the enemy does no good, not discussing it is the simple way of hoping the problems the NFL have will go away. If there were topics of the Super Bowl discussed here, good or bad, more people would be informed on it that would not know otherwise. Nothing any different than the Bud Light fiasco.
