“Representative Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul, has been charged with a misdemeanor crime after an alleged hit-and-run in Napa County.

Paul, 86, has been accused of crashing into a parked car on the shoulder of a roadway, briefly stopping and then driving away, according to the sheriff's department.

Authorities identified the vehicle's license plate as Pelosi's husband's. Cops said the car had 'significant damage to the front right,' which was consistent with the crash on Young Street on Thursday.

Paul allegedly 'admitted to hitting something, but said he did not know what he had hit, so he kept driving,' according to a press release from the Napa County Sheriff's Department.

'He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving,' the department added.

California Highway Patrol identified Paul's brown convertible car just after the crash partially blocking the roadway. …”

He should have told them it was a hammer.

Banged in the rear, tried to get away without anyone knowing, but the cops showed up. Sounds familiar.

Happened at 2:30 PM. Broad daylight and he didn't know what he hit? Was he drunk? Senile? At a minimum, revoke his license.

DUI 4 years ago. Didn’t he also have another wreck a few years ago? Something about hitting a jeep in an intersection?

Edit: same incident. Hit a Jeep while intoxicated

A later article:

“Representative Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul, has apologized to the driver he rammed into in a dangerous hit-and-run crash near the spot where he got a DUI four years ago.

Paul, 86, has been accused of crashing into an unoccupied parked car on the shoulder of a roadway just after 2.30pm in Yountville, a small town in the Wine Country of California, on Friday.

He was driving close to the palatial vineyard estate he shares with Speaker Emeritus Nancy in upscale St Helena when he smashed into a parked car.

Cops say, rather than stopping, Paul continued to drive his brown convertible until it shuddered to a halt and blocked an intersection – the exact spot he previously got a DUI in 2022. …”

So, according to the article, Pelosi apologized to the driver of an unoccupied car.

Apparently, the police didn't give him a breath test. Too bad.

Take his driver's license FFS. Piss poor driving history given hit and run, DUI 4 years ago, and killed his brother in a 1957 rollover. Doesn't help that he's 86, and 4 years ago suffered brain trauma from the hammer attack.

EDIT: It Looks like 3 different news sources are reporting that a breathalyzer was used on scene and it registered 0.00 so no blood draw:
  • Local ABC,
  • local NBC,
  • and national ABC.

They should have issued him a DMV retest. In CA, LEO can issue a DMV retest in situations like this that basically makes the person go to the DMV and have to earn a license again.

In the last 15 seconds of Corsair's video that is what the sheriff said has been ordered

Of course they didn't. Because they obviously knew who he was. Can't give him the joe blow treatment for such a scenario.
