Did they offer a reference to the specific written policy that you allegedly violated? Probably not. If there’s no such thing, I’d think you’d have legal grounds to tell them to go pound sand. But maybe that’s just me being an old guy.

Just perhaps the offended person does not know their airplanes, and thinks that you have a German Nazi airplane on your screen, and it offends them. Just a thought.

Turn it around on them, tell the prof that you are triggered by your classmates obviously skipping history 101 and how the nazis must be destroyed and that if they can’t get on board with killing nazis and reveling in that, then they should go to a re-education camp that explains who the nazis were...and start it out “that as a gay-Jewish-non binary student.....”

The class is a Data Analytics (Computer Coding class), so obviously history isn't relevant to the class.

Well, if they issue you a computer to do zoom calls on, they might have some standing on what you use as a screen saver. However, if they are requiring you to use your own personal computer, then it's your choice what you have as a backdrop. Ask them to pony up some money or a computer for you to use.

Edit the photo to replace the swastikas with snowflakes.

Let the whole class know that someone was offended by symbols of victory in WWII. Apparently the offended is not happy that America remained free and that the Nazi's were defeated in WWII. Let the class work it out with the offended.

Just replace it with a picture of a nice AR15

Tell them you want to play Hide and Go Fuck Yourself and the offended party is It.
