Brutal heat across the NE and stretching South and West. Heating up out west with fire danger reaching high to extreme levels. July and August are looking rough in many places.
Stay protected, hydrated, and cooled. Keep your animals safe and protected. put water out for wildlife too.

Fall can't get here soon enough.

I am glad for you it is nice in beautiful SD.

Ca. is not for everyone though Razz .

Enjoy it.

Lots of Americans suffer due to high heat and humidity. Please check on those who are at higher risk.

Hotter than Satan’s butt crack, haha.

I do my complaining in the winter when it’s cold; in the hot summertime, I try to be quiet. Wink

Same here. In my case the acoil has a leak and lost all the refrigerant. Old system using R22A. Replacement acoil is about $450 and R22A is roughly $100/pound, due to the limited availability of R22A. (It’s been banned/discontinued by the Government) So, I feel your pain.

Like all such heat waves (or cold snaps), it will soon pass and be forgotten.

It has been exceptionally hot here, reaching almost 100°. Most summer days (unless cloudy or thunderstorms) are high 80s with forays into low 90s. At the range I use, the actual shooting station is shaded, but I still have to walk out and put up, change or inspect targets.

Three to four homes in the neighborhood have had AC companies there over the past week, one had to replace the whole system.

Systems are running overtime, so that's when they tend to fail, when you really need them...

We've been having somewhat of a cold streak for the last month... it's only going to hit 101*F today. The heat is completely bearable when the humidity is so low. 11% right now but it's normally in the single digits. The temperature here gets uncomfortable outside when it's up around 110*F.

We had that for that for Monday through Wednesday of this week. On Wednesday, I broke down and bought a replacement window AC (should have done that in December when they were on sale!), and watered the strawberries.

On Thursday we got 2 inches of rain, and it's 69 degrees out today.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I remember a Friday in May in the early 90's. I was traveling with a co-worker, and it had been a long week. Business took us to Florida State University that day. It was beautiful, sunny and there were coeds all over the place, sunning themselves on the grass and walking around with very little on.

I looked at my co-worker and said "It's way past time to go home." He agreed. Both of us were married. We handled our business and got out of there fast.

Whats weird is we (Tx) are usually the ones with all the damn heat.
We had one day back in the early spring that went to 100*. In the last few weeks its been creeping up to 98* but still no 100* here. Still hotter then hell and I mostly just stay in.

My buddy/ good neighbor went on his bi-annually visits to Lake City Co with his family and all the pictures had them in jackets and hoodies on when out and about SxSing.
I reminded them to leave those jackets up there as the near 100* wall of heat would hit them when they got home.
