Still finding my way![]() |
I also like not hearing the mindless jabber at work about who threw a ball how far and who was picked to join what thugball team and such. It tickles me.

Apparently, S. Korea is doing this for their sports. ![]() Source: National Review - Top Shots

The only sport I really watch is NASCAR, and since the FOX and NBC contracts to 2024 have a provision that they not broadcast shots of the unfilled stands, it won't matter. Yes I'll watch. I think it will be weird for the drivers, like they are practicing or something.

IF I was to watch a sporting event, I'm not watching the crowd, I'm watching the event the crowd is irrelevant

I'll watch without the crowds, who watches sports for the crowds anyways?? Baseball will require more attention, as a lot of the time I listen for the crowd and then back up the DVR to see what happened. Football, I barely see the fans in the stands, sometimes I don't want to, like when some fat dude has no shirt on and the team colors painted on his obese body. Golf without "In the hole!" will be better. Basketball, you only see the relatives and famous fans or when there is a foul shot. Who cares? Is the Indy 500 on for the holiday weekend? You don't see the crowds there either, and I'm watching the cars, drivers and pit crews.

I'm open to giving it a try myself. I enjoy watching golf, football and baseball. It will be different for sure but probably won't matter in the long run. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

In certain sports, especially football, the crowd definitely adds to the experience. Baseball as well, to a certain extent. Golf would probably be MORE enjoyable without them. But at this point I'll take anything. As long as they are playing I will be watching.

I don't watch sports for the fans reactions, so yes I would watch. Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

There are some ways these leagues could get creative to make the games more attractive without fans in attendance. For example, have a live band instead of an organist. Mic the players and officials. Let the fans, through polling, choose a starting lineup or something. And best of all, make the game quicker. I don't care what sport - they are all too slow. Yes, they still will depend on advertising revenue and will have to go to commercial breaks during the broadcast. Still, just get on with it somehow. They should approach the 'season' as a one-off. It doesn't go in the record books, it doesn't count for anything. Just make it fun and don't lose the fans. I don't expect that will be the approach however . .

I'm a baseball fan. When I watch on TV (there's nothing like being at the game!) most of the game is focused on the players and the field. You only see spectators when there's a ball hit into the stands. My eyes are on the game, not the grandstands. I do like hearing the play-by-play, however. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

I couldn't care less about people who are not me being in the stands. I don't watch many sports anyway. ------------- $

I enjoy ISSF Olympic shooting videos. My kind of sport and no ball involved. Sink or swim, I would love to try my hand at the 300 meter rifle. The pistol events are excellent viewing.

Like 50's sit coms which used laugh tracks they can dub in crowd roars at appropriate moments and polite clapping and "In the Hole!" for golf events. The “POLICE" Their job Is To Save Your Ass, Not Kiss It The muzzle end of a .45 pretty much says "go away" in any language - Clint Smith

I watched the Korean baseball game on ESPN last night with no fans. It’s was very weird. Other than being eerily quiet you didn’t really notice except in wide shots with LOTS of empty seats. Even the ESPN announcers were in their homes calling the games. It was kind of weird.
