aileronGot a burn for fish and chips; who's got a good recipe?
Cabin ever is setting in, and bemoaning we were supposed to be in Kent UK at a retirement party for a guy who worked for me for 30 years. I've got a couple of cans of Boddington's, and 6 tall cans of Murphy's stout. Who has a great recipe for fish and chips?

sidss1I have had good results making the batter with Indian chickpea flour ( which is available in Indian grocery stores, and Indian people call it "besan", pronounced "bay-son"). Didnt use beer to make the batter, but added some cumin powder and some chili powder, and the fish and chips tasted real good.

100% this. I really like using Newcastle as it has a nice nutty flavor but Guinness is also pretty good.
Be sure to season the flower with salt and pepper and dredge the fish first
