Hey All,
Wife and I are buying a new construction home and we need recommendations for a Fridge, washer and a dryer. All appliances need to be electric. We would like a stainless finish fridge but don't really know much more than that.

As far as use for the washer and dryer it's just the two of us and the two dogs.

Stainless shows off finger prints and smudges.

Not much of an issue if you don't have kids. Wink

This in spades! We learned this the hard way. I'd go with Whirlpool or Frigidaire.

Amen on no Samsung. Please don’t listen to a sales pitch. Very simple, Samsung sucks.

I have a 24 year old Sears Kenmore Fridge (made by Frigidaire) still going strong.

THIS. I wouldn't venture out of these brands. I have 5 tenants and have been through them all (brands). Front load whirlpool duets for laundry.

I’m partial to Maytag and KitchenAid. But any Whirlpool/Maytag/Amana/KitchenAid will serve you well, and most of those products are USA made. Check your email, I’m an employee and sent you something that may be useful. Feel free to email Meir you ever need one of our appliances.

definitely SQ for washer and dryer. We have an Amanna Refrig. It has been fantastic. Albeit a no frills version, thank goodness.
Congrats on the new house.

Whirlpool and Speed Queen analog w/d is what we bought. I've had a couple of Whirlpool warranty service runs and they were handled properly.

Of the stuff out there, the Whirlpool corporate family is your best bet. In refrigerators, the nicest appointed and most robust are the bottom freezer models. If you want a dispenser model, i would opt for the ones that have the ice bin in the refrigerator compartment rather than in the door.

In washers, you can choose capacity and glitz or you can opt for reliability. In top load washers, the Whirlpool/Maytags are good but you will likely see about 8 years of service out of th ewasher. The current crop of front loaders are very good. But you have to want a front loader. If you want buy once reliability, get one of the classic Speed Queen top loaders. you can expect a +20 year life span from one. However the biggest thing I hear about them is regarding capacity. it's funny that our parents had much larger families and they were happy with a 2.7 to 3.2 cu ft washer basket but everyone seems to think they need one twice that size anymore.

I don't trust anything made after 1985. I hate this disposable appliance trend.

We bought KitchenAid refrigerator, washer, and dryer (gas) in 1995. The washer and dryer have needed one minor repair each and I've replaced some small parts on the washer, otherwise no issues.

All our kitchen appliances are Frigidaire Gallery "smudge-proof" stainless steel. Put in in 2015. Only time will tell about long term dependability of the inner workings but the outside finish is awesome and easily cleaned.

If Kenmore (or what ever they were) was around 1st choice, GE fridge and as stated speed queen and or GE washer/dryer. JMO you don't need to spend a huge amount on washer/dryer, low end do the same thing.
$800 set vs $1600 set all clean the same

Part of the problem is that bedding has increased in size since I was a kid. My parents didn’t have to wash King or California King sizes, but I do. Hard to cram a few of those into those smaller tubs.
