vthokyI like mine with Bailey's.

Generally, I can drink it black but a bit of sugar makes a bad coffee tolerable.

I'm curious: does a stainless french press have an advantage over a glass one?

RogueJSKFor brewed coffee, usually black. Sometimes with a small splash of milk, if it's available.
I'm not a fan of adding heavier cream or half-and-half, or especially fake "creamer", and coffee doesn't need sugar or artificial flavoring added.
Occasionally I'll grab a flat white or a latte while I'm out, both of which are a combo of 2-4 espresso shots with steamed milk added in different ratios. That's mainly for cold days when I want a larger quantity of warm beverage, but don't feel like drinking 4 cups of coffee at once.

smlsigExpresso, black nothing added.
Thank you.

His reply “gotta kill the taste somehow!”
That's me, pretty much. I never learned to really like the taste of coffee, so on the rare occasions when I do drink it I have to add a lot of sugar (or honey) to hide the taste of the coffee. So why bother? Yeah I know, I'm a heathen or something.

sigmonkeyI drank nasty G.I. coffee for too many years, to suffer bad coffee.
I drink what tastes good, typically dark/bold, prefer fresh ground and French pressed.
Coffeemate dry, no sugar, but I will drink it black.
Will not drink black with sugar, or out of glass.
I know it is all in my head, but coffee from glass "tastes funny". (funny queer, not, funny haha)
And as OP, I like what I like, and if I say "No, Thank you." to new, don't push it.

Rey HRHI do French Press. One and a half turn on my manual Japanese conical burr grinder. 850 ml at 203 degrees which is the boiling point of water where I am. 2 minutes bloom then 4 minutes to steep.
I can drink it that way but after all that, I like French Vanilla flavored creamer.

This thread reminded me that I do like Irish coffee, and have not had any for a long time.
There is something very nice about Bailey's... if forced to add cream, that will do

Recently experienced Tia Maria added and that was not a bad thing

Chris17404Cold brew, vanilla syrup, sweet cream cold foam on top, no ice.

PHPaulExtra Bold Italian Dark Roast from my Keurig, two level teaspoons of sugar.
In the Summer, I'll make my own Iced Latte using the same coffee, poured over a quart mason jar full of ice with Lactaid milk and a dash of Torani Hazelnut syrup added to fill.
I LOVE real latte' and cappuccino (usually hazelnut or mocha) but am
violently lactose intolerant, hence the Lactaid.

KevHI put just enough cream to coat the entire bottom of the mug and then pour in the coffee.
I have a strong preference for Peet's Major Dickison (a dark roast). It's pretty much ruined me to most other blends.

Back when I was in the Army, we’d make “hobo” or “cowboy” coffee in the field as Army cooks. Boil a large pot of water then open up a #10 can of ground coffee and dump in and stir thoroughly then let it sit.
My mess sergeant used to come around and say “I want that coffee just like me: black, strong and rich!”
I had one who said he wanted it the way he wanted his women:
Hot, black and ready for the cream.

lizardman_uBlack, no sugar.
Unless I am trying to recreate Cafe con leche that I had in Spain, and then black or even better esspresso with sweetened condensed milk.

I was thinking tied up in a sack and thrown over a mule.
I like a little cream or Baileys (or, Georgia Snow Cream from
https://moonrisedistillery.com/ ) if partaking at night. Do not care for cold coffees.
Like many, I’ll give many things a try.

konata88When drinking alone or with food:
If the coffee is good, i prefer strong and black.
If not so good, then I’ll still try to drink it black but may add cream. Sometimes sugar is also necessary.
When drinking with dessert, always black.

This is me as well.
When I am south of the border I order “cafe con un suspiro de leche, nada mas.” I usually get a stare… then a smile from the counter or barista.
