With a photo of probably two of the most racist people in that city with a big smile on their faces. A city councilman and female.

The Winston-Salem, NC, police department is looking for a new chief.

They had it narrowed down to two.

It was found that one of the two re-tweeted some conservative tweets from Alan West--front page news on the Winston-Salem Journal. He is effectively out of the running now. Insane.

I am told by my little brother who lives in that area that the Raleigh, Durham, & Chapel Hill area is extremely liberal. I believe it. And, as an aside, I had this thought: If you ever wondered WHY the liberals/progressives are so eager to take the white mans' history from him - maybe it boils down to jealousy? After all, how many blacks can actually state with certainty their family's history more than one or two generations back? In the interest of public safety?? The monument -- regardless of its topic, sentiment, or one's thoughts about it -- has stood there safely for over a hundred years, right? I fail to see a public safety hazard. Seems to me that it was only "unsafe" after a bunch of "protestors" started pulling it down.
