Another sidenote. We went to a SF Giants game Sep 2 AT&T Park, SF hit 102 degrees that day). They announced the official attendance something like 35K, stadium capacity is something like 41K. We had a goodly view of most of the stadium. Nowhere nor at any time during the game did we see any seating area that approached 50% filled. The two most likely explanations are that many who bought tickets stayed home due to the heat. Or, they lied about their attendance.

I don't think it's a mistake. Vegas has a TON of things going for it, for a football team. Direct flights from all over the country, tons of hotel rooms, tons of other attractions. People will fly in just to see their favorite team play against the raiders. Plenty of things for the wife to do while the husband is watching the game.

A stadium full of the opponents fans isn't great for the home team. The Chargers will learn that lesson again this year. Visiting fans don't buy corporate boxes. You want a sold out stadium and you want a home field advantage. The Raiders have both right now. Vegas long term is all guessing and hope at this point.

I work in the city and live in the east bay. I'd have to leave work at 3 to make kickoff and that's after driving in terrible traffic To milpitas to catch light rail. Nobody in the right mind would pay 50$ to park
As noted I work in downtown SF if you check stubhub you can really go to value town on SF Giants tix now. Lower box a few rows back from the field could be had for $15 last homestand.

BBMWMore than that, Vegas being what it is, the stadium will be a venue for much more than Raiders games. They'll stuff any event in there they can think of. And most of the people attending those events will end up in the casinos, hotels, restaurants, clubs and shops on strip. So the "secondary" economic benefits to a fool all stadium in Vegas is higher in Vegas than most other cities. This is especially true since I would think a higher percentage of attendees as events in this stadium, football games or otherwise, will be out of town visitors.
