Another MSP chase, this one results in the driver ejecting from the vehicle at the end. If you're curious this starts east of Belding Mi and spends a lot of time on 44.

I actually had a very similar crash to this back in the day. Driver (very drunk and a frequent flier) sitting by the side of the road with this big rectangular hole in the brush. Out 'there' was what was left of his truck...

I saw that one too and noticed how the officer pitted didn't have his lights on until after he spun around. You can see him reach up and turn them on.

Here is one who did it to himself. A seat belt might have saved him a lot of injuries.

I'm a little surprised there was so much discussion about "pulling him out". Glad they thought better of that and left extrication to the professionals.

This occurred in the area where I grew up. I can't say I recall ever seeing the Garden State Parkway that deserted while I was there.

This starts out as a rather routine stolen vehicle pursuit but ends quite dramatically. The officer who ended it definitely wasn't screwing around. Looks like the perp got two rounds off before ejecting his mag and then one after before then getting all tied up in the steering wheel. Luckily, the officer hit wasn't seriously wounded and was treated and released.

Yes, mistakes are made. Innocent people get injured or killed by "whoops I made a mistake but I've got qualified immunity".

I could have sworn I saw a video of an Arkansas State trooper pitting the wrong car and flipping it.

I can't find that video now, but here is another. Wrong car. At night. Trooper "retired" after this.

What shocks me in most of these videos is how slowly the other drivers get out of the way, if at all! A few do react quickly and move the heck out of the way, but many of these take their own sweet time... or so it seems to me.

In their slight defense, the last time I drove through Atlanta on I-285 heading home in the middle of the night, I was stunned by two cars that seemingly appeared out of nowhere and flew by me at WELL over 100mph, one on each side of me! Admittedly, they were both just idiots racing each other and didn't have flashing lights on top of their cars, but it still shocked me how fast they appeared, then passed me, before I realized what was going on. It made me wonder at the time, had either of them been LEO with flashing lights, how quickly would I have responded and made the correct move to get out of the way?

A Michigan State Police Sgt. showing that you can be in a high speed pursuit, get rammed, and still be professional and courteous.

Rightwire, it sure looks like an Illinois license plate to me. I wonder which one of our former governors made that plate?

Wonder how Albuquerque mounted PD got the perp to jail. 4 years ago, Galveston mounted police riled up all of the "activists" when they walked a perp to jail tied up to their horse.

Those give you some real reach. Did your guys wear helmets? I was surprised to see the ball caps here.

If they were smart, they called for a patrol unit to transport.

That was impressive by Albuquerque. I knew some guys on the local Sheriff Dept. Mounted Division back home. The training they go through is no joke.

.

Training we just wore baseball caps. Parades we wear the Campaign Hat. Working the street, we have helmets with integrated radio coms. The Motor folks and Mounted Detail get the leather jackets and Motor boots as well. Training usually just wear jeans and Barn jackets. The Mounted NCOIC was working on a proposal for the mounted guys to carry black jacks tucked in their boots. Very low profile and absolutely stunning when you wack a miscreant on a joint.
