I've had slowdowns with Firefox in the past; I have no proof, but I believe after a certain number of upgrades, it gets cluttered. The cure has always been the same: completely uninstall it, and install a new copy from scratch. It doesn't take long.

Howie in AZIf uninstalling, then installing a new copy doesn't work, try doing a refresh. It worked wonders for me.
Go to Firefox help, troubleshooting info, then click on "Refresh firefox".

doublesharpI have an MLB subscription and follow baseball games on my desktop. Works so much better using Chrome and I much prefer Chrome's bookmark toolbar on the top of the screen.
