So sorry for your loss of Lily. I helped my folks say goodbye to their 18 year-old Westie, Jen, last night. It was a long time expected, but it still takes you by surprise and it is one of the worst experiences. Miss her terribly. I fervently believe that our animal companions are integral to God’s Creation and Kingdom. I look forward to the day where I will see departed friends and family, including our animal companions. Prayers to you and your family.

Mike

My boys are getting up there, and I dread it every time. I really do wish they lived as long as we.

Take care.

My deepest condolences. I'm more attached to my dogs than I am most humans. Loosing a pet is one of the most painful things we experience in life.

My deepest condolences. They are such a huge part of our lives and leave such a big empty spot when they leave. Prayers for you.

Dogs are too good for us; they show us unconditional love. If they were people, they would be the type that ask you how your day is going and actually care about your answer. So it makes sense the day they leave hurts so bad. My dog Snatch master was one of the most loyal creatures you would have ever met. I feel like dogs are the greatest, most selfless creatures on this planet. You have my sincerest condolences.

Very sorry to hear that. It always is a terrible loss.

My sincere condolences. We lost our 16&1/2 year old Lab in 2018, and it was one of the worst things emotionally. We now have a year old Lab puppy that helps, but I still miss our old dog. I truly believe dogs make us better people.

I'm saddened to read of your loss and I sincerely offer my condolences. I recently lost one of ours and it is never easy. I sometimes avoid threads like this because I don't want to think about losing pets, but it's a part of life. I'm glad we have this forum to help each other.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how you prepare and it sure doesn't help. In January we lost one dog and our other is going in for tests tomorrow, it ain't easy.

Oh man, so sorry to hear. I still miss my buddy Petey we lost 2 years ago. Want another, but just can't bring myself to get one yet in trying to avoid that pain again.
