How many times have you changed your carry platform?

I agree, I only carry DA/SA for CCW. I consider the DA pull my final choice as to firing the gun in a threat. After the DA pull I have already committed to neutralize the threat and SA will finish the job.

Twice.
Went from P7M8 to P228 because doing high round count training with a P7M8 gets crazy expensive (you need a few so you can swap and shoot another one while the first cools).
Went from the P228 to an old school P229 because the eyes went south and I could get it milled for an optic.
Probably should have gone to a P229R as they are a lot easier to find behind the communist curtain. Whoops...

Not really any significant change. Started with a P229, then added a P239. Also early on added a NAA Guardian 380 which is a small all metal pocket semi-auto in 380. A few years ago added a P320 which is a striker fired polymer frame Sig. That was the biggest change, going from hammer to striker fired, and with a red dot optic.
I've intentionally stayed with no manual safety and the same carry/conceal methods in order to have the same procedures if things ever go critical.
I am considering a P365 in 380 for easier concealment and for the wife's diminutive size.

I switch around between these three depending on time of year, occasion, etc.

3 iterations for me, started years ago with a 1911, C&L. Then went to DA/SA SIG but really wasn't personally comfortable with the decock but no manual safety. Never got on the striker train. I now only carry HK. DA/SA decocked hammer down, round in chamber and safety on. If needed, drop the safety and pull the trigger with the added assurance that if someone unauthorized grabs the pistol, the trigger only works part way but will not discharge until safety is also released. I can also revert to C&L if I deem it necessary due to heightened threat level. Carry what you are comfortable with but this works for me.

When I first got my CCW 30 years ago I had a P220, P228 and a P7M8 on my permit. About 10 years ago I switched over to a Glock 19 and a Glock 42

Started carrying back in the Fall of 1985. Since then, my carry platform has changed more than a few times. Same for my wife, though after she switched to the Glock 26 in Dec of 2006, that gun has been on her hip every day from sunup to sundown.

First it was a P239, then P365XL when they came out. If I go into a suspicious area I bring extra mags for the P365, or take a P320 compact.
Backup on occasion is a P938 in an ankle holster. These are all 9mm, but I keep a P320 .357 Sig in a truck safe.
I was taking a handgun class and the instructor spoke about patrolling alone out in the countryside. He stated that having a pistol in .357 Sig, and being mentally prepared, may be important for survival. He was referencing pulling over a car, where the driver thinks he can get away if he shoots the LEO, you have to be ready mentally and with effective stopping power. I never forgot what he said.

I have never changed my carry "platform". It's always been a 9mm Glock.

I occasionally carry a Defender in 9mm. All metal and thin are its best attributes. Colt’s latest bluing isn’t the greatest - frequent wipe-downs with a silicone towel will keep the corrosion at bay. Especially if the gun makes contact with your skin. It’s a good gun and I enjoy carrying it.

I carried a G23 in a CTAC holster for years until I got the original sized P365 with a comp tac infidel ultra max holster.
I now carry the P365 when out and about, but I carry my Sig 1911 at church.
I tend to carry my 442 everywhere. Due to injury making the recoil quite painful, I'm trying to decide between a heavier gun, or a lighter caliber.

I’ve decided to keep carrying the PPS. I just ordered a few more mags last night. Walther is discounting them 31%. I also picked up a few more PPQ magazines. Then I fired off an email to Walther asking if recoil and magazine springs will continue to be supported as both pistols are now discontinued. We shall see what they say.

Walther responded saying there are a lot of parts commonality between the PDP and PPQ. They also said there are plenty of PPS parts left. Good news.

Many times. Been back to a J frame in my pocket for the last few years.
I think it’s the best option for an urban pedestrian life.
If that changes, my carry may change as well, but between having a toddler, etc I doubt it.
