“In 1994, John Bolton said that if the United Nations Secretariat building in New York “lost 10 stories, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.” The quote makes an appearance nearly every time Bolton’s critics compile a hit parade of his alleged infamies. My question is: Why is the remark even controversial? The U.N. is a never-ending scandal disguised as an everlasting hope. The hope is that dialogue can overcome distrust and collective security can be made to work in the interests of humanity. Reality says otherwise. Trust is established by deeds, not words. Collective security is a recipe for international paralysis or worse. Just ask the people of Aleppo. As for the scandals — where to start? …” https://mobile.nytimes.com/201...-united-nations.html Serious about crackers

The U.N. is the accepted forum for the expression of international hatred. “It is better to jaw-jaw than war-war.” Winston Churchill Let ‘em be. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Unfortunately it is only directed at two nations. The US and Israel. If there "needs" to be a UN (there dosen't) let them spout hatred from another nations shores. Leave ours. I admire Gen. McMaster for his military prowess (look up th battle of 73 easting in gulf one) but he did lean to far left. I'm all in on Bolton.

Those are merely the top two. There is plenty of hatred between less often mentioned countries to take their minds of these two regularly. Some of this hatred is good for business, and if we dropped out, or worse, moved it elsewhere, we would lose influence. The moderating influence we have because of all this is considerable. Why give it up? Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. You can't lose influence if you have a permanent seat on the security council. And a veto.

If you quit and kick the rest of them out you do. They don't actually do much, occasionally kick the bear to shake the money tree, maybe. Give “journalists” something to weep and wail about.... I figure they have us right where we want ‘em. If all of them always did what the federal government wanted, they might as well be states! 2 Senators, so many representatives, etc. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. I didn't say quit. Kick them out, yes. Let a more "sympathetic" country host them. I will gladly pay for US representatives to travel there for business. Let them spew their "world police" anti American, anti Israel gibberish from a podium in another country. Our security council veto will still be just as good. I am tired of hosting them. It's 0145 bar time. Time to go home. It's closing time.

The more liberals don't like Bolton, the more I do like Bolton. It was claimed the UN charter was patterned after the US founding documents, but there are some key differences. The US Declaration and Constitution, collectively, recognize a higher power, ie, "Natures God", divides and balances power, and keeps power close to the people through voting. The UN Charter recognizes no power higher than itself, concentrates power into the hands of a few, and keeps that power away from the people. "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. When it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it....While it lies there, it needs no constitution, no law, no court to save it" - Judge Learned Hand, May 1944

The UN is primarily a socialist bureaucracy, it feeds it self first while pretending to serve the people. "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. Who did the Godfather kill? The old guy in Sicily who killed his father, mother and brother. Don Fanucci in the white suit who was extorting the paisan. The ones who deserved killing. It was his sons who were the hotheads. This message has been edited. Last edited by: JALLEN, Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. The fact of the matter is that the UN COMPLETELY loses its credibility if the US were to withdrawal from the UN. And the UN knows it. ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1
