As reported in the other thread, there have been two prior sinkings of warships by submarine torpedoes since World War II. https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...600087915#2600087915 The more well-known incident happened in the war between the UK and Argentina and was widely reported at the time. When the SECWAR said this one was the first sinking of an enemy warship since WW II, perhaps he was referring to the first sinking by a US submarine. MK48 FTW!! I had to learn the MK48 as the Coast Guard had launchers at the time, they were a deck launched set of three tubes that could be swung outboard for launch. then Admiral Yost took over and did away with beards and the torpedos and the ASROC and the towed array for anti sub.
