You guys are painting with a broad brush.

Explaining what we've witnessed many times with our own eyes is "painting with a broad brush"?
If you were in some of our shoes you'd be standing watch at the CA boarder prepared to repel invaders.

I understand you guys. I live in the Bay Area.

I'm just in a mood and I feel like I'm being attacked.

Human nature to defend myself...

You would want me as a neighbor.

Since you're a member here I'd give you the benefit of the doubt that you are an exception to the rule. Wink

PR, I'll bet I would love you as a neighbor. Any forum member would be someone I would like to have around.

Thanks ...

I miss the Monterey I grew up in, and would even swallow the insane real estate prices / cost of living but for the liberal insanity.

My kids grew up in Monterey. I told them the good news is you grew up in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The bad news is it's not a place to settle and raise a family. They live in other states now.

I'm so happy that most of the craziest Californians are scared to death of us Mormons, and skip right over Utah to land in every state around us.

The ones who do come here are likely LDS themselves, and already have conservative tendencies. Even those, however, often need a new proverbial conservative paint job.

Well I’ll chime in. First I’ve met PR64 and he’s a good guy. He’s got a few years on me so he’s close to retirement and escaping. And he’s just as hard core conservative as any of us.

I’m a 5th generation Bay Area Californian. Daily if not more often, my wife tells me how much she hates it here and wants to move. Problem is where to ? We have family in TN and TX so those are viable escape valves. But then there’s a job. I suppose I could just sell everything and show up and rent till I find a job. But I am lucky enough to be making Bay Area wages and have bought my house before the HUGE run up in values. I have some friends not much old than me mid 40s who bought in the 90s and they next to nothing or paid off their house. So they are in great shape.

Realistically my youngest graduates high school in 10 years. My oldes starts high school in 4 years. We either bail out in next 4 years or in 10. I feel pretty safe in my job the foreeable future.

We did have a block party this last Saturday. About 20-30 families all with kids infants to middle school age and blocked off our street for a bbq and picnic. It wa spretty amazing as a bunch of the guys stood around and chatted talk was about to register their AR or not by end of month and how much a commie the governor is etc. it made me smile and feel like ther is hope.

No, don’t come here. 1000 people a day are moving here. Traffic has become unsustainable, property and taxes through the roof. It is turning into a nightmare. Foreign invaders are forcing me to look elsewhere and I was born here. We are being taxed out of our homes and the traffic, on a weekend, is hell on Earth.

You're getting people who agree with your state!

It doesn't work that way in Virginia. The people that come here from DC, Maryland and New Jersey who are "tired of their states' politics" come here and vote for the same kind of shit-bags that destroyed the states they fled.

Funny, I left California in '03, came to KY and contributed significantly to the KC3 organization to promote concealed carry within the state. I fled CA because I could make no progress there. I think you are judging the refugees too harshly.

Too right, brother. I've kept moving west because the east is filling up with liberals. There is a congressional primary coming next week. The Republican campaigns have turned nasty. Yet I heard one observer say that it doesn't really make a difference, as the Democrats will likely win the seat in November. Blech.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I can see both sides of this argument. I live near the City of Detroit. Most of the rest of the country believes that everyone in Detroit is a thug. Not true, there are good people living in Detroit. I think it comes down to; if you lay down in the pig pen you will not likely smell like a rose, even if you are not a pig. OBTW, I almost never go into the City of Detroit, too many thugs. Smile

I moved from the Bay Area to North Dakota last month, now I am living in my grandparents house, I grew up here and know lots of people here. I am keeping my house in the Bay Area to spend a few winter months ect. It is a mixed bag. Yes I have a concealed carry permit, yes I was able to buy 4 handguns from AIM Surplus, to tax, no DEROS, and a flat $25 FFL fee. However I miss my people, friends, former coworkers and neighbors something terrible. Yes the place has way to many liberal nut jobs, but it is full of decent, friendly, hard working, creative people. I love hearing a varity of languages , different ideas, customs , food ect. Also anyone that wants to work smart and hard can make piles of money. The fact that I could not buy 25-20 ammo for the occasional rabbit hunts I go on was driving me nuts, had to use a 22 hornet . What finally did it though is that in unincomporated east Contra Costa County, specifically El Sobrante where one of my rental houses is, they passed a new solid waste management law that made it illegal to clean up your own yard waste and haul it yourself. Only the county's franchise, can collect and haul solid waste.
However the move has been comming for some time, but there are many great people and things in California I already miss.

We seem to be getting TWO types of Californians moving here to Montana. The folks tired of the taxes, gangs, etc. Who also like to shoot and hunt/fish. Have one of those as a neighbor. Decent guy.

And unfortunately the others who come here with an interest to SAVE us. Anti hunting/trapping. Want to get involved in stopping mining and logging. Fortunately as soon as they show their true colors most locals tell them to mind their own business.

One thing for sure....95% of them moving here have FAR more money than the average Montanan!

Second generation Californian, grandparents were farmers in Maine who moved out to Farm in CA. The weather (or lack of it) is great, the scenery is gorgeous. The politics is completely hosed. It comes all the way down to the basic level of folks not having the stones to talk to their neighbors about a simple issue and wanting to involve the government in every little detail of life rather than have an adult conversation. There are a lot of good people here, but there is way too much libtard insanity.

I get the point about many refugees from Kali taking the problems with them. I suspect a lot of it is not deliberate, they are just used to doing things a certain way so they head down that road without thinking. There is much to be said for approaching any new culture with an open and curious mind. I have learned a bunch that way both in other states and in other countries. Too bad more refugees don’t spend more time and effort getting into the swing of their new digs...

Sad to confirm but it's true. Those vermin who brought their disease up here in that period effed it up for the rest of us.
