I don't think its any different that what we see in the US. The cops are coming onto a scene as it's happening, multiple people and bodies are flying around. Depending on where you're running in from, you may not see who has the weapon. It is curious the first arriving cop jumps onto one of the blue jacketed campaigners only to start getting stabbed in the neck himself by the actual assailant.

No different than a CCW in-action and a cop comes up on the scene while it's happening or, with multiple people and 1 or, 2 of them have weapons. Unless the CCW holder ID's themselves ASAP and avails themselves of their weapons, it's everyone on the ground, secure everyone, account for weapons, and then start sorting things out. How many times has a CCW gotten shot by a responding cop....

Many people got stabbed by the muslim and that cop, from the video, looked like the knife went down to the hilt on his neck. I hope he recovers. There is no living with muslims, as it is their belief or none. There is no middle ground in the Quran.

I call that pretty radical, seeing as it contradicts the constitutional guarantee of religious freedom wholesale. And given that he has been thrown out of two subsequent conservative parties and been embroiled in a fight over direction in the right-wing Pax Europa group he is currently a member of for the last two years, those around him seem to agree.

Incidentally, he has also pissed off Jewish groups because he opposes practices like male circumcision of minors and ritual butchering common to Judaism and Islam. And BTW other than a couple charges of popular incitement and disparaging religious groups, he has also been convicted for insulting a police officer. Since his rallies are typically directed more at an internet audience, and frequently include cursing passersby for showing no interest, I suspect he's more of a general crank who has found a pet issue that allows him to vent his spleen for a nominal purpose.

Every (AND I DO MEAN EVERY) Muslim I have interacted with has wished me (and you, even if you don't think so) dead. Just an FYI, religious faiths around the world do not call for the eradication of a group of people from a competing faith. Groups like that are called cults, and that is exactly what Islam is. Their ideology is contrary to all civil values. There's no living with them and labeling anyone who recognizes that fact a "radical" is tantamount to ignorance bordering on stupidity.

Convicted of INSULTING a police officer? Surely you mean ASSAULTING?

As of the latest reports, the stabbed officer was still undergoing surgery for major vessels being damaged in the neck area, and considered in life-threatening condition due to severe blood loss; unfortunately not unusual for stab wounds in that area, despite seeming initially okay. The usual People Who Weren't There are ridiculing him online for tackling what is reported to be a rally steward rather than the actual attacker. Of course they probably have never been in the situation to run into a scene where two guys are wrestling for a knife. As it is, everyone was lucky that there seems to have been a threat assessment that made four officers intervene within 20 seconds.

Attacker reported to be a 25-year-old Afghan who stalked the scene for several minutes before attacking. Given that the rally hadn't even started and he brought a rather big knife, it looks clearly premeditaded, with an obvious suspicion of Islamist motivation, and the state protection branch of police has taken over investigations. The Federal Prosecutor General has been briefed and may take over as a case of terrorism. Suspect suffered a gunshot wound to the belly and also underwent emergency surgery. Another five people were treated for stab wounds to extremities and faces.

To their credit, politicians at all levels up to President Frank-Walter Steinmeier immediately condemned the attack. There has been a recent spate of physical transgressions against people on the campaign trail for the EU elections; and while the issue gained prominence due to right-on-left incidents, the people deploring those couldn't very well caught being silent on such a egregious attack on right-wingers.

I’m sure law enforcement in the economic reich is similar to our federal enforcement in the US. The greatest threat is from white supremacy and traditionalists. Especially after the YouTube video of a party singing along to a song. Such a threat made the cop ignore the armed moslem, and go straight for the dangerous white guy. It could not have played out more like a political cartoon if they tried. Down to the female cops standing around and doing nothing.

Mannheim knife attack: Police officer in serious condition

A police officer hurt in an attack at an anti-Islam rally in the German city of Mannheim remains in serious condition. Police said the suspect, whom they shot, is unresponsive after surgery and cannot be interrogated.

A German police officer who received life-threatening injuries during a knife attack on Friday targeting a rally by the anti-Islam right-wing group Pax Europa in the city of Mannheim remains in serious condition, police said on Saturday.

Five participants in the rally were also wounded in the attack and taken to the hospital, with some having to undergo emergency surgery, authorities have said, while the suspected attacker was shot by police.

Security sources told dpa news agency the assailant had suffered life-threatening injuries, and a police spokesman said on Saturday that the suspect remained unresponsive following surgery and could not be interrogated as to his motive.

[...]

What do we know now?

The injured police officer was stabbed in the back of the head several times, according to authorities.

Among the other wounded was leading Pax Europa member Michael Stürzenberger, his organization has said. The event was part of his "Open Eyes" tour, which organizers say aimed to warn of the dangers of "political Islam."

Stürzenberger is reportedly out of danger, with the Pax Europa website quoting him as saying that his operation had gone well and giving his best wishes to the injured police officer.

It remains unclear whether other Pax Europa members were injured.

Bavarian security services have accused Stürzenberger of making "Islamophobic statements," and has classed the organization Pax Europa itself as Islamophobic.

Although police have not identified the suspect, media reports have said he is a 25-year-old Afghan national who lives in the south of the state of Hesse, some 30 kilometers (19 miles) northeast of Mannheim.

According to German broadcaster SWR, the man has been in Germany since 2013.

It appears that his Islamophobia was well-founded.

Well, that's press statement legalese, of course. Obviously this guy got an arrest warrant for multiple counts of attempted murder, but is still unresponsive. Somewhat atypically, he is reported as being married to a German citizen with two kids, and no prior police record.

The stabbed police officer, named as Rouven L., remains critical and has been put into an artificial coma. A report by national tabloid "Bild" makes his condition sound pretty hopeless, but the source should be routinely taken with a grain of salt (fingers crossed).

The other victims are reported as aged 25, 36, 42, 54 (who was temporarily critical, too, but now out of danger) and 59 (Stürzenberger, who suffered stabs to the face, torso, an arm and leg, but seems okay after surgery); one a dual German-Kazakh citizen, another an Iraqi, the rest German nationals only.

Really? The best you can come up with is this kind of bullshit? To any sane individual, what was seen was a cop pouncing on the victim because his training tells him that "white man bad"! He chose poorly of course and if he pulls through, will live the rest of his life knowing what a mistake it is to believe the propaganda from the globalists.

That is correct and that is exactly how it was founded by Muhammed. He proved it to be a theocratic form of government spread by military might and using the envy/hate of the Jews as his rallying point. (Sound familiar?)

Unfortunately the officer died this afternoon. In light of the rather quick and serious developments since I posted what was supposed to be just about a dramatic image, I edited the thread title.

I could say a lot about the callous reactions and cynical exploitation of events by various parties of different interests, most of which clearly haven't even seen the video of the incident, since deleted from X (supposedly it's still floating around social media). But more dispassionately, the most immediate impact will probably be on a current trial against some other police officers in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia after the death of a juvenile African asylum seeker last December. This guy was reported as suicidal by the shelter he stayed in, holding a knife against his body. Five officers who responded used mace on him, then a taser as he moved towards them, quickly followed by an SMG burst. All bodycams were turned off, allegedly in accordance with regulations for suicide situations, but looking bad afterwards. However, a point made by the officers was that a close threat with a knife requires a quick reaction, which is rather drastically proven by the video of the current incident.

Sad the police officer has died but hopefully the attacker is soon to follow.

This shows once again why citizens need to be armed out in public. There is an another version of this scene that starts earlier and shows it from a better perspective and in the event.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3W3T8K9xl0

This went on for some time without any police anywhere in the scene. The two older guys that were misidentified when the police first arrived were the only protection, if that's the right description. With the right tools this wouldn't have happened like this.

Unfortunately, the officer didn‘t make it and succumbed today to the wounds he received on friday.

Ever since friday, my thoughts were with that officer and his family. In more than 37 years of duty with the police in Hamburg I certainly had quite my own share of dangerous situations and close to death encounters. One of those had a kurdish man with a six inch blade on top of me (literally, with me on the ground in a narrow hallway). Luckily, he didn‘t succeed in killing me, as my supervisor was on scene and didn‘t hesitate to shoot him. By coincident, my supervisor also had been my shooting instructor during my academy days. That incident back then had a happy ending as I only received minor wounds (although my jacket was cut to ribbons) and the attacker died.

Sadly, the officer in Mannheim didn‘t have that same luck…
He received his deadly wounds on the same day I officially retired, so it was a reminder to me to count my blessings to have come so far.

I cannot express here my thoughts and feelings about Rouvens murderer…

I am saddened to hear that the officer did not survive the attack. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

That photograph or video screen-capture has a surreal aspect to it.

There is the scene of violence, obviously, but then there are the by-standers in the background looking towards the mayhem which is chaotic with lots action and screams of horror and orders being shouted (I assume) but they seem so nonchalant towards it, and behind them are the faces on the public transportation vehicle that depict ‘surprise’ or ‘shock’ at what they appear to be looking at.

It’s a very tragic and deadly event unfolding, but that photo has some conflicting and interesting components to it.
