Just as wealth breeds rich people, and those who abide by the law a safe city; this ultra low-income income high rise is bad for the community, just as we see in Chicago’s projects and other ultra low income housing built since LBJ…

Yes and no.

Typically spread out as part of a development. Ie, 3% of units (or whatever) are Section 8 (low income).

Puts financially challenged people ("poor" is subjective) in finically richer areas.

Which of these nine separate developments is a 'high rise'?

Besides the senior housing...are any these any different than the standard 2-3 story project/faux townhouse?

Looking at Fallbrook location for example...that location is a shoebox of a lot, in downtown, that is two-doors away from the Sheriff Dept.

One wonders if a portion of these will be for our newest “citizens” with more pouring in every day… rather than people already there.

In San Diego speak it translates to, "all of these will be located when we mean.”

Going to sound backwards but bear with me

In San Diego speak it is saying all and each of those locations will have 100% of the residents we describe.

So it is not a question of "which" in San Diego, the real question is where are the other places not meeting 100% of the stipulation because, those other ares mught meet the Section 8 requirement

The places in the article meet a stipulation of 100% of the occupants are in the "ultra-low" economic category

I don't get it? It lists 10-50 units per building. It's not like they are building a sixteen building complex of 12 story buildings with 300 units per building.

I am pretty sure they abandoned the idea of projects long ago. These units are probably only 4-5% of the total units in the building.

Fucking affordable housing, Its a lie.

Im an ex SD native and serving time here on what I thought was the perfect PNW town.

No two shits are given unless it involves .gov money.

Then you end up with 2 usable units and the rest are pure shit and will eventually get converted to higher end housing via tax payer

What hi-rise low income projects in Chicago are you comparing this to? Cabrini-Green was over 3,500 units in one small area and all built before LBJ. The hi-rise and mid-rise have since been demolished. Pruitt–Igoe, about 3,000 units in St. Louis was also built well before LBJ and all demolished by 1976. Truman, on the other hand, thought these were great ideas. Fun fact, the ghettos were already in those locations before the projects were built. The projects were seen at the time as a solution to those ghettos.

It doesn’t sound like San Diego is planning anything like this.

He's pointing out that there's no need to post multiple additional single-sentence posts when you want to add on to your existing thoughts, if nobody has posted anything in the interim.

(Especially when you have a ginormous signature like yours that takes up at least 14 rows of text, thus adding at least 15 new rows of text, plus the space needed to display the date/post count/name/avatar/etc., just to post one short line. Then repeating that four times in a row.)

Instead, the forum allows you to edit your previous post to add on additional information. So all that could have been edited in to add to your initial 6:17pm post, and be contained in one single short(er) post, as demonstrated by nhracecraft in his post.
