Sorry I took so long to get back to the thread. I was USN Aircrew for 30 yrs. 3rd fleet and 7th fleet during that time frame. I spent some time on that deck and others. I also did a lot of time in 2nd fleet and 6th fleet, which is where the other ships mentioned were stationed. Once you get accustomed to seeing a ship you never forget it. |

Here's where you lost me in your initial post... While I'm pretty sure the second number is a 4 and it's the USS Constellation, CV-65 (Read CVN-65) is the Big E, the USS Enterprise. |
