Well, that settles it. I actually have a Magic Bullet that must be 20 years old.

Hmm, the Ninja went up $20 overnight.

For mid-priced blenders America's Test Kitchen highly recommends the Breville Fresh & Furious which is ~$190. Recommended is the KitchenAid 5 Speed Diamond Blender for ~$95. Not recommended were the Nutri Ninja Blendmax Duo & Cuisinart Hurricanes. Their testing included crushing ice, making smoothies, mayo, almond butter, ease of use, & noise. “Agnostic, gun owning, conservative, college educated hillbilly”

Ah, good info. Thanks. Maybe I'll look into the kitchen aid diamond!

We make smoothies often and went from a blender to the Ninja Master Prep, and it has worked flawlessly for us for almost 3 years. We have an older version of this one: https://www.amazon.com/Blender...ds=ninja+master+prep "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

Smoothie King makes THE best smoothies and they use Vitamix blenders. I’d go with what the pros use... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

^^^^^^^ Don't forget the 20% discount at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We get those in the mail all of the time. We used one a few years ago and got a Vitamix. Like the old saying goes, "Buy quality, cry only once." As far as smoothies go, get a Nutri-Bullet for 80 bucks. It works perfectly for our needs. CW

I got my Ninja Smart Screen 72oz last night, and I immediately made a green goo smoothie with it. I like how I can just push the smoothie button and let it do its thing. It starts and stops through its cycle so it is more than just an on and off device. My NutriBullets blended everything finer than this Ninja, but I got used to the consistency with no problems. I'm sure it can blend it to the same, but I'm happy. One thing that doesn't add to the blending is the black touch screen on the front face. It has a lighted red power button, and when pressed, the options illuminate. It gives a boring blender a little bit of class. Just fyi, my regular green goo smoothie is kale, spinach, broccoli, apple, grapes, a multivitamin, a shot of cranberry juice and those small yellow, red and orange peppers similar to bell peppers.
