I have a problem....maybe I need to seek professional help. I find myself buying used magazines for guns I dont even own. If I see mags at really good prices I snatch them up. I justify by saying that one day I'll "probably" own that gun. Anyone else do this? It's okay to say I'm crazy too.

I have a few for guns I don’t own ‘yet’ and also ammo for calibers I don’t have guns in ‘yet’. Either they were gifted to me or was so stupid cheap I couldn’t pass it up. One was from a gun shop closing down. Bought up a few boxes of 327 federal.

I also have guns and no mags ( colt huntsman, factory mag is hard to find and very $$ when you do find. I have 1 non triable pro mag) and guns with no ammo for them

That's ok, I just dropped $460 on magazines, a good share of that for guns I don't own yet, thanks to the grabbers here.

Sorry if you guys are having a hard time getting Glock mags, that might have been us.

I have not been keeping close track of the Evergreen State, but I assume you are referring to this: https://www.king5.com/article/...04-b4c2-828eda609574

BTW, I had a closet full of AR15 mags before I ever owned an AR-15.

I do it all the time
Sometimes it a gun I may own in the future, sometimes it’s just too good a deal to pass up
I bought like 40 mags from a pawn shop for $7 a piece, if I took them all

When we go to gun shows input out a big box of mags for people to look through.
I occasionally help someone out with a hard to find mag at a good price , and make couple bucks

Since I have all these mags out, people began to bring mags to sell me, it’s a vicious cycle !

Same way with pocket knives too

I’m kind of the knife and mag guy at the local gun shows

I quit school in elementary because of recess.......too many games

Ayup. Those buttfuckers might make it stick this time too, it's going to the House tomorrow.

Wasn't that long ago that we got SBRs and legalized suppressor use. Guess that pissed off some billionaires and made Bob Ferguson's chest pussy ache.

Well, during the ten years of the AWB, 1994 to 2004, this was SOP for me. If I couldn't first get pre-ban magazines for a pistol or rifle, I wouldn't buy it, so I always bought magazines first. The P226; CZ75; Walther P88; Beretta 92F, 92SB, 92F Compact; Ruger Mini-14, and many others- I bought the mags first, then the firearm.

I’ve always wanted a Steyr AUG. I finally got to shoot one recently and really liked it. Of course, I don’t have the $$$$ for one right now but I have decided to start buying AUG magazines for when I can (hopefully) afford one. I also keep toying with the idea of buying a P365 too. If I found a good deal on magazines, I would probably buy some knowing I could always sell them if I changed my mind.

I have a couple ammo cans full of .308 PMAGs, but no .308 rifle that uses them (yet).

I've had them for at least 5 years. The price was good, so I decided to "get them while it's quiet" (as the long-running thread here states), since I had planned to buy a .308 AR or similar - and still do, at some point.

Ooh, that's a good idea, I ought to stock up on some .308 AR mags. A .308 has always been on the wishlist, it's just down there, but with this new nonsense, mayhaps I'll snag a few, and pop into ye olde gun shoppe for a lower.

I bought 2 mags for P225 long ago, thinking I might get one someday. I never did.
Meanwhile I did find and buy two 239T and one 225A.
I also got many mags for them before they dried up. Plus they share mags one way. Two ways if you switch bases.

One of the P225 mags is blue, one nickel. Also found a Pachmyer rubber wrap 225 grip NIB.

I have a few 87T mags with no plans to buy an 87T.

However, they fit in the regular 87 and expand the capacity too 10 rounds with an extended basepad. Big Grin

How many members have read the thread title and didn't see the typo the first few times?
It's kind of amazing how ones brain fills in the blanks... or overlooks certain words (spelling).

Saw that typo from a mile away. But, it was at the bottom of the importance scale, since I'm no longer a spelling Nazi. Big Grin

I own mags for firearms I don’t own but they were all to rifles or pistols I planned on owning. It was more of a situation where I would see a good deal for mags to a pistol or rifle I planned on buying in the near future so I took advantage of the opportunity to stock up at a low price. I did that a lot with Glock magazines because once you get a G19 it’s only logical to eventually get a G20. Big Grin

I wouldn’t buy mags to guns I didn’t plan on owning.

I am in Kalifornia, where buying standard capacity mags when the law allows it is SOP. I have "A LOT" of mags, many for guns I have not purchased yet. So many mags that I count them by the weight of each box.

This ^^^^^

I bought several 357 Sig P229 mags because I have a P229S and had planned to get a P229 in 357 Sig for carry. I've more-or-less dropped those plans, so I expect I'll someday sell those mags.

I can't see buying mags for guns I do not own and I have no plans ever to own. I have far too many things I'll actually use upon which to spend my money.

It's not just the expense. It's also the storage. Thus I wouldn't even enter a karma for free mags for guns I do not, and probably never will, own.
