My wife's been a nurse for 2 years now. She's encountered many intense situations in that time. Today was the second time she's given chest compressions, but today the patient lived to see another day.

I made sure she had dinner and flowers when she got home tonight.

I'm just so proud of her, I can't describe the feeling. I'm not on fake book, so I post encouraging stuff here.

To top it all off, one of my best friends has had some tests done and we confirmed he does not have cancer. We were quite concerned for a while.

Tony.

happiness all around.

2 years seems like most everything is still new. I hope she never loses that feeling of wonder, value, and impact.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Thanks! She really is an amazing woman. She's really living the American Dream. She's Brazilian and moved to America in 1999 with only a few hundred dollars and didn't speak a word of English.

She taught herself English by watching the movie "Twister" and reruns of "Friends." Since then, she's gone from house cleaner to massage therapist to caregiver to full time student, US citizen, and now an RN working in the #1 hospital in the state.

That being said, she's still a woman and a huge pain in the ass, but she will always have my respect. (I actually said this to her last night)

Great news on both accounts!! Sounds like a trip to Marble Slab Creamery (or facsimile thereof) for a double scoop is warranted!! Smile
