Any Experience With Blackvue Dashcams? Login/Join

I've been thinking about getting a dashcam, and another thread has me shopping more seriously. I'm looking at Blackvue 900 or 750 dual channel cameras on Amazon. Can anyone here tell me about their experience with either of them? Thanks.

I have had quite a few. The first dual camera setup worked great except after a year or so it would overheat and reboot every ten minutes or so. I have been running a 900 in my truck and a 750 in one of my business trucks for about the past two years. Both have been completely trouble free. My 900 records really good video. Just sent a clip of a hit and run to the popo and they got his plate and found him. I keep the firmware upgraded and you have to use good microsd cards. I use only Extreme rated. Currently using a Sandisk High Endurance 256Gb. I also have a battery for it so it won't run on the truck battery and it gives me 48 hours of recording even when my truck is off.

BlackVue and Thinkware are the best IMO. I have the 900 in my wife’s car. Never had an issue with it. Check out Blackboxmycar.com

I'm looking at BlackVue's Power Magic EZ for power. Connects to the OBD port, so no messing around in the fuse box. Do either of you use that?

+2 with you ... BlackVue DR750S- 1 Ch.

The DR750S-2Ch is a very worthwhile thought, for critical front and rear coverage. The rear cam is powered by the front (main) unit.

Depends on your vehicle?

I have been researching dashcams and was initially put off by blackboxmycar because they focus almost exclusively on BlackVue and Thinkware. However, further research demonstrated that they are a legit operation and they recommend BlackVue and Thinkware because they are the two top dashcam brands.

I have used Rexing for 3 years and they have performed perfectly. The only down side is the resolution, even on HD mode, I can’t read license plates.

I am not using that as I have a gauge display for my diesel truck plugged in there. I am running the Blackvue battery and expansion pack. I have a Power Magic Pro I was going to use but I wanted to keep it completely off the vehicle battery. The battery backup charges when the motor is running and supplies power to dashcam while truck is off until the batteries go dead. Once you start the truck the backup batteries charge again. The backup batteries were as much as the dashcam so many consider it a luxury purchase. I wanted to make sure I was recording when parked in public so it would capture a potential hit and run. The only thing I captured while the truck was off was some solicitor putting a sheet of paper under my windshield wiper Smile
