Need a Gas Grill Recommendation

zipridersonNeed a Gas Grill Recommendation
I am ready to graduate from propane to a direct hook up to my gas line in my home.
I am your average griller - a few steaks or burgers, corn, etc. I don't need a lot of grill surface, or bells and whistles.
Want to keep this under $1,000, and really want to be 600-700 if possible.
Thoughts?

MinnowAnother vote for Weber Genesis. I wish I had spent the money on a Weber years ago instead of investing in the disposable grills I have had.

Phantom229Weber all day long, unless you can afford a Napoleon.

Also remember you will get slightly less heat out of Gas vs Propane due to less BTUs. So you will lose ~ 25-50° in whatever you choose. You should also be able to get orifice or regulator kit from manufacturer, and not have to buy a NG grill.

shiftyvtecIn case you were still undecided, Weber Genesis with the appropriate orifice kit. I'd go with a painted version as I have heard the stainless ones can develop some rust spots over time.
The paint and chrome seem to hold up well, unless you have a neighbor who lets their teacup mutt roam free to piss on it.
There is some pee streaking and discoloration on the doors of mine. Even after polishing the paint/chrome surround.

Bob at the BeachWeber owns Ducane. Napoleon is kinda the Weber of Canada. Both manufactures are good. Both have excellent customer service. The Napoleon has a bit better warranty. A lot of the low end grills from both companies are sourced from China. The Napoleon grills have a really good firebox. You can put a charcoal insert in it if you want to grill that way. If you can find a place that displays both Napoleon and Weber you can see some built differences between the two. The Napoleon Prestige has a lot of good features.

UTsigWe went with a Weber because of parts availability. Ours is a 7 year old Summit NG and has been very good. Naploleon would have been a second choice, we have a fireplace and firepit insert by them.
