Question Regarding Bone Spur Surgery Login/Join

I was recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hands and bone spurs in the bone between my thumb and wrist. The doc recommended surgery on the left. Currently I'm getting injections that help, but not a whole lot. Anyone have this type of surgery? Was it effective? What can I expect? Docs give me one perspective, but I'd like a patient's viewpoint.

I just had multiple bone spurs and scar tissue removed from my ankle. It was a simple 20 minute arthroscopic procedure. I was able to walk out of there, and after 1 week it is still just a bit sore. Probably because I’ve been over doing it lately. I would not hesitate doing it again.

You are probably really talking about a common problem called CMC arthritis. ( tends to often affect the non dominant hand more frequently than the dominant, or if both affected the non dominant tends to be worse)
Several so.I’d reliable procedures can address:
Cmc suspension arthroplasty ( what my practice does) quick about 30 min. Take disease bone in worst out, stabilize thumb with a “ tightrope”
Anchovy procedure. Stabilize with a pillow built from tendon harvested from the wrist.
Now small micro sized metallic joint replacements are also available,
